Anything by Red Hot Chili Peppers. I simpley cannot stand those idiots. 'hump-de'bump?' That sounds like a bad porno.

Anything by Fall Out Boy. I would really love to stomp the lead singer's balls if it would shut him up. Thing is, he probley cut them off.

Anything by Panic1 At the Disco. These assholes are as bad as Hawthore Heights, which leads me to...

Anything by Hawthore Heights. These little cock-sucking dick-less wonders of the world have to nerve to call themselves metal.

My Humps by the Black-Eyed Peas. Seriosly, the chick looks like a porn star that had too many things inserted into the anals of history.

3... 2... 1...
FIGHT!

ETA: I'm sorry if I come off as Bitter, I just hate really bad music. Y'all understand, right???

I kind of disagree with you on the Peppers and Fall Out Boy. Some of their songs are actually good but their "sound" can get rather banal if listened ti for too long and both have gotten too much so-called "street" cred over the years. Though I agree pretty much with the others you mentioned, especially the Black Eyed Peas. There were one or two songs that were OK but they really get more and more annoying the more I listen to and see them EVERYWHERE.

For me, anything by Michael Bolton and most "adult contemporary" ilk,
The Spice Girls and nearly all Bubblegum/manufactured-type pop and such Europop/dance,
most of what is currently so-called "hip hop",
hell most of everything that is being pushed so heavily by the record companies in the last 15 or 20 years really,
"The Christmas Shoes" song (ALL TIME WORST SONG IMO!!),
and, that one hit wonder boy band-type group that sang the stupid "I Wanna Sex You Up" song.

I freely admit there are decent RHCP songs, but it is drowned out by the horribley shitty chaff. Give it away? I wanted to beat the shit out of the next guy that liked that song. (I nearly did, mostly because said fan I know LOVES RHCP and hates bands like Iron Maiden, old Metallica, Dream theater, In Flames, etc. I bluntely told him if he did not shut up and stop being an ass about it, I would get up on the table and kick him in the teeth.)

Yeah, did I mention I really hate their popular music.

The only band I disagree with are RHCP. Like their sound or not, they were REALLY unique given the times. I mean, white boys doing such a heavy funk sound combined with a ton of other influences in the 90s? I actually prefer their old stuff when they were more of a pure funk/rap band instead of the kinda boring pop band they became. They can still bust it out now and then though, and Flea is just a killer, KILLER bassist. John Frusciante is also a really great, underrated guitarist. I think he actually attended Berkeley so he's definitely got chops, and a lot of his stuff is more difficult to play than it sounds.

Bands I can't stand:

Linkin Park
Limp Bizkit
Nickleback

Those are probably the only bands I literally shake my head at every time they come on the radio. Bizkit and LP both suck as bad at rap as they do metal. And Nickleback have written 2 songs, released them over and over, and made millions. Go figure.

Oh, and Fergie/Black Eyed Peas. If any one understands their appeal, please fill me in...

People like Celine Dion don't bother me. They're singers, not composers. And I usually have a lot of respect for the people that write their music/songs.

Man, Yojimbo, it must really tear you up that Linkin Park has a new album coming out.

@Trigger: I would not say worst, but yeah, LB is up there.\
ETA: For the record, Limp Bizcut will be referred to as Limpy Bizcut. Because I said so.

Yeah, it's hard to believe that LB was once considered cool over seven or eight years with that stupid-ass "hot dog water" album. Nickelback, ugh, I really got annoyed with one song six or seven years ago. That "How You Remind me" got really overplayed. Same goes for Creed too.

Rage Against the Machine

I just hate them, so bad. Why everyone loves the guitarist so much is beyond me.

I think the only reason anyone "loves" that group just as bad is most likely to do with the message rather than whether or not they actually have any good (or frankly listenable) music. [sarcasm] God forbid there's someone in entertainment who just wants to entertain and does not to tell me what to think or believe in (or what not to think or believe in) or even who to vote for (or not vote for).

I really hate the lead singer in that band. Insiped little asswipe.
Since RATM loves to whine so much, too bad they missed most of the Bushwhacker administrative.

Creed was another good mention. Kinda like Nickleback, they wrote 2 songs and kept releasing them, and foolish people wanted more.

Alter Bridge though is quite good. With Tremonti at the helm they're a completely different band. He's actually got a lot of chops that he never got to show off in Creed, and with a solid rhythm section and a singer that can actually sing, they're pretty good.

Trigger's Elysium wrote:Ah, Limp Bizkit. The absolute worst band of the 20th century.

As bad as they are, I might give that honor to Static X. Had a friend that was in to them, and every time I heard them I really wanted to jab my ear with an icepick. Thank God they're off the radio now atleast.

I dig RATM, but they're not my favorite.

Why Tom Morello is so great: Simple, because:

A) Nobody in the world sounds like him, and nobody (until him) did what he did with effects. Even today I have no clue how he does half of what he does.

B) He's one of the best riff writers ever. Maybe he tends to be too same sounding on occasion, but pick up the newest Audioslave albums and he's got SO many killer riffs on there.

Little known fact about Morello is he was an 80s shredder at one point. He said once that he remembers going to a club and seeing several guitarists all doing the same, tired, EVH impression and he thought that that whole sound/style was going nowhere, so he wanted to do something new and different.

RATM and subsequently Audioslave also have a great, really underrated rhythm section. They were solid in RATM, but they've improved dramatically on the last few Audioslave albums - so much that I often find myself just focusing on the rhythm parts. I will also say this about RATM, they were quite unique when they first came out. The rap/rock/metal thing has been done to death by now, but they were the first and probably the best at it. I still pull out their first album from time to time.

Rap- I dont really feel like ranting over this one...

J-pop/techno- Although not the same thing, I just wanted to blanket statement the two due to the fact that they enrage me for the exact same reason. Although I enjoy both types of music its WAY too easy to get J-pop or techno stuck in your head for hours...

CREED SUCKS I HATE YOU I HATE THE BANDS YOU LIKE

RHCP are old and getting real rusty quickly. I was never all that into them, so they're just whatever. Nice backup vocals.
Fallout Boy have their moments. Coming from punkrock, they're pretty bad at it, but songs like "This Ain't a Scence It's and Arms Race" stand out. Catchy music can be fun, ya know, I even downloaded "Irresistable" with Beyonce.
No opinion on Panic at the Disco, never even heard Hawthorne Heights.
"My Humps" isn't a bad song, it's the Black Eyed Peas that are absolutely terrible PERIOD.
Celine Dion have terrible vocal technique.
Noone likes Nickelback anyway, do they?

I'll contribute with Beck. Hate his boring, monotonous ass. I've seen the guy many times on MTV, but it's just so dreadfully uninteresting music that I keep forgetting what's going on, so I can't even hum a line from a single tune of his. Except the one everyone keeps covering, of course.

EDIT: RATM are ok, but repetetive. Audioslave is worse, because I can't stand that Chris-guy.
If I have no soul to touch, no heart to love, no evil to rise up above
No angels and no ghosts, no real victories to toast
If you believe that this is true then I must ask;
to what end do you proceed?

The difference for between rap and emo music is that some of raps early songs were really well done. Rap music now is generally shitty. Emo music has no redemption for me at all. I suggest immolati ng these Cd's and band members with liberal amounts of Napalm.
