And my whole family also in a similar state. It was a rough two days coming down here from NJ, but I am glad that's over and I don't need to look at boxes for the next while.

It's pretty nice down here as far as I can tell. Everything is spaced out way more than NJ, likely due to the lack of multiple story houses. I think I am going to like it down here, but time will tell. It wasn't the easiest to leave the first 14 years of my remember-able life behind, but it happens to everyone eventually.

Glad to hear you made it down there safely, have fun!

So, I got promoted to shift lead a couple weeks ago. My district manager is in the process of taking over the West Hollywood store, and he transferred me there to help out the transition. At first I was worried, because I had gotten attached to my crew and routine at the other store, but I just finished my first weekend there and it was super chill. Not only am I getting paid more to run the shift and getting better hours, but this store is less than half as busy as where I'd just come from; despite being a higher class burger place, it's considerably lower in class relative to all the fancy stuff in the area. It's a huge change in pace from being constantly busy, to having long periods of downtime. The manager is cool, coworkers are cool, and it's in a really nice part of town. I think I'm going to like it here, and if not, my old manager told me to raise hell and he'd transfer me right back into his store. It's nice to have options!

From what I hear, Australia is something else when it comes to controlling what comes into their country.

Just finished writing a massive post about an anime I just finished. I was surprised on how much fun I had writing it all down and just seeing what I could say about a series like Macross 7.

So my weekend trip to Seattle to see the Distant Worlds concert series was amazing, though my wallet does feel a bit lighter now

So I think there's some kind of weird force in the air that tried so hard to not allow me to go to Korea, but I overcame it. I'm saying this as a secular individual because there is no way in hell that so many factors tried to keep me from going, and yet none of it stopped me.

So basically, Wednesday was my flight day. I woke up with a horrible flu, just throwing up and everything. I let my sister know as I call her and she then tells me that she is on the brink of getting fired by her boss, due to communication problems and the fact that she does things without being at fault. I'm then told by my dad to cancel my flight, which is something I refused, as I've prepared for this for months. I recover little by little.

Oh, oh! And then, then I find out my flight is delayed, causing my other flights to be delayed in a chain, and I needed to exchange all of them for updated versions to get them to work and ask everyone around where I'm supposed to go. Some gave me misleading information.

Finally, I made it to Seoul/Incheon, made it to my sister's apartment, feeling better, my sister hasn't been yelled at for two days, and all is well. Not much will change though. I'm still a poor fuck, just a poor fuck in another country.

And now that we're on the subject, the other day it was announced that FFDW is coming to Europe, Paris next year so that's definitely awesome news. Plan on going (that is if we don't default in here, eeer)

Got an amazing score at the thrift store. VHS tapes were 25 cents apiece, and I was able to pick up a bunch. Someone must have unloaded their entire anime VHS collection there, as well as a bunch of sweet 80s movies. I only got to look at about a third of the store's selection, so another visit in the next few days is in order. I bought:

Hellraiser
Total Recall
Trigun (eps 23-26)
Armitage III (ep 1)
Ninja Resurrection
The Wings of Honneamise
Devil Hunter Yohko (2,3 & 4)

all for less than 2 dollars.

Because it really comes out of an absolute feeling of it's impossible to do these things, so I might as well just do anything. And out of this anything, one sees what happens."--Francis Bacon

On my desktop machine, I decided to give openSUSE a shot. So far, I like it. It works reasonably well, but there are things that take getting used to. KDE, in particular.

The only major issue I've had is that I can't VLC to work correctly. That's not a huge problem because I got MPlayer working.

It's such a small thing, but I really like the QML-defined backgrounds you can set. It's just so cool. I might try writing one of my own.

By far the best part is that I can run Steam and a variety of games. I couldn't do that on Debian without having to upgrade to testing or unstable. Update: CSGO and Cities: Skylines? I'm sold.

Oh for sure it does haha.

That's awesome. I really do hope everything works out for you so you can go! It's definitely something every fan of Final Fantasy should go and see at least once.

Was asked to do a podcast in a few weeks about that Eva Concurrency Project/Eva overall. :D

Time to listen to some podcasts to get a feel for how they're done. I'll probably post the info in-thread when things are better known.

I've been cooped up in the house for a few weeks studying, doing surveys for small cash, and maybe a bit of exercise outdoors, but now my sister will finally do tourist-y stuff with me since she's off work this week. Suwon Station, here I come =w=

EDIT: Suwon station was amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing

parfaits, street food, the arcade, the works. I'm so thankful my sister showed me all of that =w= *wags tail happily*

In five days I'll be departing for Minnesota, where I'll spend a week hanging out with one of my oldest friends, and doing nothing but watching Gundam and stuffing my fat face full of White Castle.

Our current playlist includes:
- Mobile Suit Gundam
- Gundam Unicorn
- Gundam 0083
- Gundam 8th MS Team
- Gundam Wing
- Gundam F91

I've had a particularly rough last couple of months at work, so I desperately need this catharsis. Arceus please watch over my journey.
Set phasers to thrill.
