A life without tacos is an empty life: Yup, I love my country's gastronomy and it goes waaaaaay farther than just tacos, burritos, chimichangas and quesadillas so yeah, tremendous stereotype on this one.


I have heard once of a delicacy in Mexico that comes from the rare times when a bead of rainwater enter the husk of an ear of corn, resulting in a fungus on the interior. The fungus is supposed to be astoundingly tasty, but I cannot remember the name of it.

Chamuca, PLEASE tell me you know what the name of this thing is?

I don't think I had any piñatas for me growing up, but having gone to many birthday parties recently I've seen 2 ninja turtles, an Elsa, Minion, Ariel and Hello Kitty get the [s]crap[/s] candy beat out of them all, within a 2-3 month span.

Also don't forget enchiladas, menudo, molé. :P

I'm really not sure what the stereotypes for this part of New Jersey are, though I'm going to assume I don't fit them on account of not being Republican. Then again, I am extremely "white"*, have a neutral American accent, and am quite obviously of upper middle class upbringing.

* I think this is a rather inane term and prefer European-American, myself.

I live in indiana, I think the only indiana stereotype I live up to is that I like to blow stuff up with fireworks. I did that in illinois where it's illegal before coming here though.

I'm from Texas and people always seem surprised when I tell them that I'm from there, so I'd say no. I don't even have the accent aside from a few colloquialisms and a tendency to elongate my vowels every now and then. So no, I don't wear a cowboy hat or boots and I don't ride a horsey to college.

I live in Northern VA and I've noticed the area I live in is split between rednecks, military, and the ghetto (my community college classes guaranteed I had at least one fellow student was there on the GI bill or wore camo-print jackets and hunted)

But yeah, as for the ghetto part:
do drugs? (at the very least pot) meh, occasionally. no prescription drugs though. (I know some people that do, though) I do smoke, though. Not menthols. :rolleyes:
sell drugs? no
listen to rap? sort of? not really.
on welfare? no
have a weave/fake hair? no
been to jail? no
wear tight clothes? depends on the definition of 'tight' (but not really)

then again, I am mixed so take that however you want

Probably because it's so deeply imbedded in American popular culture and every other Classic Western was set in "Texas" even though as somebody who's been to nearly every part of the state at some time or another, I definitively tell you that Texas looks nothing like how its usually depicted. Poor Arizona and Utah.
