Got three wisdom teeth taken out, and I didn't even flinch because the novocaine gel was so strong.

Heard a loud noise downstairs, went to check on it and my door to the stairs fell off, luckily it didn't fall on my dog but no doubt im going to get blamed for it when my mum gets back.

Laptop's screen isn't working. I can turn it on but the display remains completely black. It's probably a hardware problem. I don't even know if they're capable of fixing it over here, so I might have to ship it overseas. There goes the device that my life pretty much revolves around. I hope none of the data is lost. Fixing/replacing the screen shouldn't require any tampering with the hard drive, but I'm worried because I have nearly 1TB of stuff in there.

Didn't bother reading the local news -- it's the usual "blame the Prez" and grandstanding time.

In any case, losing 44 troopers in a day against a mixture of heavily-armed gun nuts is crushing.

Have you tried plugging in an external monitor? Not as a permanent solution, obviously.

Whenever I get up I have an extreme headache, what is otherwise just slightly lingering pain. At first I could throw in Aspirin and Mexalen, but the cycle those pills numb my pain get gradually shorter. Since I can count headaches (unrelated to influenza or sunstroke or stuff) in my life on one hand I'm a little bit at loss what to do now.

You should see a doctor. Whatever this is taking care of it sooner rather than later is the best option.

And I read the "Epistle to people in Rome", and now I fear I've almost lost all my rational (rather than æsthetic or emotional) barriers against converting to Christianity. Paul seems surprisingly aware of what he'd talking about, and I have no argument over the "why would all these people organize this conspiracy" argument. To be sure, it's possible that they did. But it doesn't seem likely. The only thing that seems really wrong about it is "Their voice has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world," referring to the preaching of Jesus. And, the previous sentence tells us, these words haven't just gone out, but have been heard. Of course it's blatantly false. Indeed, such a claim would be plausible in a provincial worldview. Is Paul allowed to cite falsehoods in arguments and still be taken seriously as representative of God? But now I'm pretty much grasping for straws.

I don't think I have to go into how revolting such a thing, I believe, would be.

Lavinius, if you grew up in India you'd probably be saying all this same stuff about Hinduism because it's what's around you and in the cultural ether. Have you even researched the competition as in-depth as you have your local dominant religion cluster?

No, I haven't, but, to be frank, I can't quite see how that's relevant. The only way it could be would be if it offered a similiar massive radical-mental-shift well-documented from very close to the beginning cult with no apparent profit to the many conspirators, to remove the uniqueness from the little genuine evidence Christianity has. Besides, the wager values are quite incomparable. (And before someone inevitably brings this up, yes, such a God would be worth worshipping, if not for floating invisible moral values than at least out of self-interest and the complete lack of any gain to anyone from resisting.)

Edit: This is very worrisome, and I am very worried. If anyone would rather speak to me more immediately or whatever you want at all, my Skype address is [code:1]veil.of.gods[/code:1]
Has anyone ever thought these same thoughts which I have?

Yeah, I'm using my television as a monitor. It's annoyingly inconvenient, especially with the short HDMI cable, but it'll have to do for now.

I just lost nearly all of my offline friends, and I didn't have very many to begin with. This hasn't been a very good week, I'm afraid.

I found out a friend of mine had been trying to manipulate me all along, and most of my friends are also her friends. They're closer to her than they are to me, so I'm out of luck. I need to start over, pretty much.

Well, that sucks. If it's a little bit of condolence, EGF will never betray you. :glomp: :revelry:

I went through something similar with a friend of mine back in 2011; definitely not a pleasant experience. But I would suggest reaching out to the other friends since they may still like the person you are, unless this manipulative friend is a real jealous nutcase type. Of course, this is only if you actually genuinely enjoy the company of the other friends/they didn't do you bogus too.

I've usually ever really had two close friends at a time, so I know how shitty it can be to find people to connect with, and then to keep the friendship alive/drama free. Keep your head up. :kawaii:

and thank you so much for everything!!
