Killing this way is needless. Bl

Killing them does not bring the dead back to life, and vengeance is a hollow thing at best.

Better they be given the chance to devote themselves to contritional acts for what they've done, and if not, it's enough that they'll rot in a cell for the rest of their lives.

Unless they are a clear and present threat to people in the outside world, there is no reason to kill them.

good, one less cop killer to worry about in the Peach State

sorry, but the guy was not innocent as all the propagandizing, socio-political hacks blabber on about, Davis long refused to take a polygraph despite proclaiming his innocence but only until his last days and only when his lawyers asked for it, and this bullshit about 7 people recanting is major league spin since there were 34 total witnesses from the prosecution, not this lie of just nine total as the media regurgitates, with dozens of separate chances in appellate court since the death sentence FOR 20 YEARS(!!!) to prove any degree of innocence and the exoneration or even death penalty commutation never came in any said appellate court all the way to the Supreme Court of the United States

further, two of those supposed witnesses that recanted were never even called by Davis' lawyers during the appellate process despite willingness to testify again, so what does that say about the purported innocence of Davis by all the know-nothing blowhards if Davis' own lawyers lacked the confidence to pull out every means to exonerate him or at least stop his execution?

say what you will about capital punishment being right or wrong, I would agree to a point that there are problems with how the death penalty is often handled even including the case of Troy Davis, but Troy Davis was GUILTY as hell of killing Officer Mark MacPhail in cold blood so just get over it already, all you easily lead individuals

the patent medicine people and social engineering hacks did the same anti-death penalty propaganda campaign with that punk cop killer Mumia, so don't be fooled by the pulling of the heartstrings by media hacks and srsly grow a pair all ye bleeding hearts

But not everyone shares your opinion on that, everyone knows that killing them won't bring back the dead, but that's not going to stop people wanting vengeance/justice/retribution because it might be hollow to you, but for some others, it's definitely not.

I'm done with this, back to topic.

Talk about culture shock. Despite having lived for years in Britain and America I did not know washing in many western countries is done with Hot Water until I read this news! I always use cold water for washing clothes....

I suppose that it was pretty obvious (since I've already expressed myself on this topic in the past) but I don't really care about the innocence or guiltiness of Troy Davis in particular, I've not followed the case even though I kept hearing that it was controversial, I'm against death penalty because it's a gross violation of the more basic human right, the right to life.
So let’s make a wish.

Until they actually get it and find out how hollow it truly is, and as someone who has gotten it, I know the feeing all too well.

I'll admit to a bit of hypocrisy though, in my case, I felt the deaths were still justified, but not in the name of vengeance.

I don't care, Stanley Williams was also clearly guilty, but he didn't deserve to die. His actions of repentance gave far more meaning to the tragedy than his death ever did.

Ending a life begets nothing, it should be only done to prevent something.

I don't buy into the "genetics bullsh*t" anymore than you do. Perhaps there's something to it, f*ck if I know, But I'am not nor will I ever say these people cannot be held responsible for their actions.

They made a choice and they should pay for it. Death however is meaningless, and in many cases, it's too good for who you're giving it to, it's the easy way out.

What an irony that many "pro-life" movement members in America are fervently pro death penalty.

I would add two additional powerful reasons:
- it is clear now that miscarriage of justice is more common than many thought. What amend could you do to a person who was dead for the wrong reason?
- what proportion of those in the death row are not from the poor class, under-educated or racial minority?

I think we are getting into flammable territory here...

Meanwhile, one of the recent mayors of Cambridge has tied the knot...

OK, how about some fodder for science fiction?

Have scientists found particle that travels faster than light which according to Einstein's special theory of relativity should not be possible?

Our own, long-term second impact.

Still, Hoover and 3 Gorges Dam, I salute your saving of Bangladesh maybe-sort-of.

Yes, surprisingly I couldn't find much of anything that has referred to it since, well except maybe this.

Who else is/was watching the launch of the Tiangong 1?
Those 5 minute still and silent wide-angle shots are killing me with suspense.

Speaking of Russia, the Russian army will stop buying Kalashnikovs until a new model is made.
