The Chronicle magazine/binder series has restarted with issue 31. The first issue sports a Mari cover and has a new binder featuring the movie posters from 1.0 and 2.0. They retail for approximately $10, and the first issue that I purchased through Books Sanseido came with the binder at no extra charge. They are scheduled for weekly releases, and there are at least ten issues planned.

I thought it was reprinted from Vol 1 to Vol 30 (Vol 30 is where the original Chronicle ended and featured Yui on the cover), while Vol 31-onward is new to continue 1.0/2.0 stuff.

Basically, this: http://www.evageeks.org/2009/12/evangelion-chronicle-reprint/

Still, thanks for the images. Nice to see some of what it has inside. ^_^ I'd be interested in getting Chronicle if I had the money (and space) for it.

Fudge.

I completely forgot that they were rereleasing the old ones and now are spamming the new ones. Just perfect when I thought I had spent the last of my animu monies for the year and another horrible semester started.

All the re-released ones are out of stock already at the usual places. I really want this but not bad enough to have to pay some asshole many times the original price on ebay.

You are correct.
I managed to get the 30, and I am now just waiting for 31-34 to be shipped to me, as those are the one that have been released so far.

Done.

Thanks!

____

I'd love to get the Rebuild-related issues of Chronicle, but I'd prefer it if it was of the whole film series and not just 1.0/2.0...

I am curious on whether or not it gives extra information on characters (Mari, Asuka) or information compared to what the films give us.

I've already bought the original Chronicle twice (long story...), so I'm definitely holding out this time. They are so totally gonna do this "updated edition" thing again when all the films are out. I GUARANTEE IT!!!

So, Faz... Do you have access to a scanner? :nyao:

Yes, and you know it.
I'll start scanning as soon as they finish, and I put them in the binders, and I manage to get my scanner working again.

EDIT:
For anyone that's interested, it appears that the rebuild related issues stopped at Issue No. 40, and it looks like 41 and onwards are "Story Files", and come with their own folder.

I'll take apart the rebuild issues in order to scan them and put them into the folder as soon as I can, and as soon as my scanner stops chucking a hissy fit.

Alrighty, here we are then. After many DAYS of scanning, I have completed the majority of the Eva Rebuild Chronicles. I skipped the Extras Sheets because there's lots of them and it mostly merchandise and pachinko, but if there is a demand for them I'll scan them too.

So I wanted to see if maybe those Relationship Diagram Character Sheets for Webuild and Puchi Eva could be translated, but they're not really OCRable. At least not at the level/way they were scanned.

Oh well. All these scans are awesome to look at regardless.

Thanks, Faz! ^_^

Awesome thanks so much Fazmotron!

Early notes of interest (no I can't read the moonrunes):
-No Angel names anywhere, even for the ones we know already from the show.
-Unit 00 is listed as 00/00' on its profile page; wonder what the 00' stuff is in reference to? Hadn't heard of that before.
-Kaji is called a 'subcharacter'. My heart is breaking :(
-Maya, Hikari, and those other two guys from the bridge are also called 'subcharacters'. Also sadface, but these were to be expected.
-Toji and Kensuke, however, are given full character status instead of sub. Over Kaji. Much like the movies. My teeth are grinding.
-The page spreads for the Angels look very interesting.

I think Tunniel and Clockiel's sheets along with the Character relationship diagram flowchart might warrant first priority for translating, personally.

That ′ mean modified. Similar to 改 (かいkai (n-suf) revision). Japan loves that kanji for mecha design when adjusting/redesigning stuff.

In the TV series:
Yellow Eva-00 = 零号機 (zerogouki)
Blue Eva-00 with shoulder pylons = 零号機・改 (zerogouki kai)

It just looks like Rebuild is doing the same thing but using the prime symbol communicate the modification. Both times Eva-00 gets upgraded/modified after being cooked by Remiel.

EDIT 2: Forgot to use the correct prime ′ symbol instead of the apostrophe. For those unfamiliar with the maths the prime symbol is one of the notations used for derivatives in case you're wondering how it applies to modifying designs.

But there were relevant differences between the before and after Ramiel battle version in NME? I didn't notice them (but maybe it's only my blindness/low attention).

Pylons added, right?

I wished they'd fixed the paint job, as well. Can't stand the original Unit 00 color, and now they've gone and blown it up before they could change it.

In both TV and NME Eva-00 gains a new chestplate design as well as pylons and a paint job. Although in NME the only paintjob difference is the white going away from the thighs.
