So I got my Kaji UFO Catcher plushie today. Finally, after waiting on it for a month.

I showed it to my mom, and said, "ZOMG, look mom, it's Kaji!"
She said, "What, is he a cop or something? He looks like a cop."

:( "No, he's a sexy spy!"
"Whatever...I couldn't tell WHAT he was."

Not as bad as when I got a Grimrock Rei. THEN my mom thought I was weird.

What kinda reactions have -you- gotten from parents/friends/etc. in reference to Eva merchandise? :o Or any anime merchandise, for that matter?

It's a series of items, I think. Or maybe the producer of them? Shnooks bought a Shinji one. Why they're called 'UFO-catchers', I don't know.

When EVA first came out, people made some X-FILES comparisons, although I suppose "Spooky Kaji" would have to spend more time partnering with Ritsuko to really make that work.

Uh, they're called UFO catchers cause they have a line of cranes called UFO whatevers. Its in Manga 4 or 5 (the one where you meet Asuka for the first time). The crane shes using says UFO on it.

I just got my Shinji, too.

It's so friggin ugly! I just love how ugly it is! Its going to hang on my pink-polkadotted strip of cloth I found lying around next to Zidane and Asuka. XD
