I'm hoping this anime version unlike Disney's version will pay more attention to the pre grim fairy tail Villeneuve's version as the beast was never ever violent towards Beauty, yes he asked her to sleep with him every night (Which is creepy, but that's a product of its period) she also says in the fairy tail he's he seems like too much of a hapless moron to be violent.

interesting, wasn't very aware of the original story. It is a very Ghibli move to start adapting Old Western literature into anime (Howl's moving castle, tales from Earthsea, spirited away). I'm glad they still decided to add the virtual reality component to modernize the story and feature relevant topics such as internet fame and media hysteria.

I'd recommend looking in to them as things like red riding hood she is not saved by the wood cutter at all she outsmarts the werewolf and runs away and things are so different to the pre grimm versions which keep adding in hero figures and making evil step moms. Some changes they took out I get as some stuff was really violent, but I think them turning women in to damsels is an issue as that stuff stuck and has affected media for a long time.

To be fair, they're not the only reason, but a part of a larger cultural and societal framework, after all.

Okay I wanna check this out as it feels more true to the older style as though I enjoyed the She Ra reboot I couldn't get on with the He-man reboot series in 2002 as the tone to me was off like looking through a fan glasses this trailer though feels better in tone and feels more true to the 80's version.

So apparently they are doing a subversive bait in switch with the new MOTU show. All the footage in the trailer is apparently from the 1st episode which ends the status quo of the classic show and possibly kills off He-Man & Teela becomes the main character & has to rebuild/reunite Eternia. :uhh: :cringe:

I like Teela from the comics I have read but come on and they can't even keep her in the classic outfit, she goes from this which is awesome...

This sounds like someone who has a beef with Kevin smith (Cause he's very pro women) is out to derail his show as I've seen one site say's he's a fraud as he does not like Teela, plus they don't want the rumoured LGBT themes of the new show. I think its more likely that the He-man gets teleported somewhere, and the gang have to find him for a couple of episodes, and Teela's old out fit is a possible flash back to whom she used to be and maybe her role is helping as she's been to Z place before and the other guys have not.

Both these charming articles are outright smear campaigns, trying to derail the show and I don't think they hold any value and people should wait and watch the show and not buy in to this rumour mill, then make a judgement. As the all dialogue one has already been proven wrong by the trailer as there are clearly fights and the dialogue is proberbly about character growth which if done well could be a good thing.

Trailer for the final season of one of my favorite shows: Amazon's Bosch
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nkA7xFnndfg
Thankfully the characters & cast will be returning for a spinoff show with Bosch switching professions.

Wesley Snipes (blade), Hiroyuki Sanada (mortal kombat, the last samurai, the wolverine, life), Donnie Yen (rogue one, Ip Man) added to John Wick 4 (very nice)

Full Halloween Kills trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hL6R3HmQfPc
I don't see any obvious major spoilers but they do show a lot & it's awesome. Halloween is my favorite slasher series & I am very pleased to see them not shy away from Myers being potentially more than a normal human (such is part of what the rob zombie films got wrong)

2nd Candyman trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TPBH3XO8YEU
Not as good as the 1st trailer & makes the lead seem less sympathetic & more obsessively unhinged.

Western The Harder They Fall
- https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKz5kZr8mrg
I am interested by default because Idris Elba is my favorite actor & here he looks like he is basically playing Russell Crowe's character from 3:10 to Yuma. That being said his gang appearing to casually murder a ton of unarmed train workers & guards while being the main characters is a big turn off. I get that westerns can be very morally grey but this is pushing it, I felt the same way about some of the kills in the Young Guns movies.

I hope that its more he's being used as a vessel, the way Helen Lyle was in the first film in that she was committing murder through the Candyman, I do really dislike the origin story change though as he is not a man who gives out candy as this gives of pedofile vibes.

Like, I get that this might be about his myth changing over time and the lead is trying to find the true myth, but it doesn't fit as his myth ties in to the deep set racism and I highly doubt it would ever get changed or swept under the carpet since its so horrific and I think ret-coning it is a really bad move as you have to be really good film wise to pull of a ret-con and if you have a single facet that alienates or is poor it pulls the whole film down.

This is in the same continuity as the original, the idea they are going for is that there are multiple Candymen born of multiple racial tragedies & the guy handing out Candy was just another one of them, he isn't replacing the Tony Todd version.

I can't agree that we were necessarily meant to interpret that Lyle was phisically committing the murders in the original because remember she was restrained when the psychiatrist was killed & if we ackowledge the other sequels we see camera footage in the 2nd showing someone being killed by a invisible force & another character acknowledges said footage so we can't dismiss that as the results of a unreliable narrator like we possibly could with Lyle. (also if you haven't seen it the second film, farewell to the flesh is damn good & underrated)

That would make sense Lyle also counts as one, since she killed her ex at the end as I got the impression her soul had been stolen by the Candy man, and she had become a vessel to cause harm to enhance his myth, so I guess we'll just have to see when this one lands how it furthers this idea and how many souls Todd's character has stolen who kill in his name. I have seen fair well to the flesh, but it was a long time ago, I need to do a rewatch sometime.

Frankly, I'm fine with Teela switching from the old over-the-top costume to something more generic, and the Teela-Audra team-up was fantastic and easily the strongest part of the show. Lena Headey as Evilyn was absolutely fantastic. Mark Hamill plays Skeletor like a toned-down Joker, but I'll give him a pass because he's Mark Freaking Hamill. Wish I could've heard more of Alan Oppenheimer (the original Skeletor!) It's also interesting to see Adam being so much skinnier than He-Man, it makes it much more believable that he could keep his identity as He-Man as a secret.

I have some issues with one of the things that He-Man and his father did and with the somewhat Diabolus Ex Machina nature of the ending, as well as the constant talk about magic and Eternia. It also felt like Evilyn went back to her old ways a little too easily (not happy unless she does a Zuko next season). MOTU felt far too messy and some of the plot twists felt a little too much like they'd come from Game of Thrones. I'm not condemning MOTU too hard because I really want to see where they take it in the next season, but there certainly are several things they could've done better in this season.

I've just watched the new He-man show.

SPOILER: Show
I do like what Kevin Smith has done personally as he's given all the characters who got no real airtime in the original show a voice and a narrative. No, It's not quite on the same level as She-Ra reoot but It's still really good to see and Teela not knowing who He-man was in the classic show was an issue as she always looked after and protected Adam and had a right to know.

I like that it also hit on the very hard issues of love and loss and that people die and its tragic, and it can affect the status quo. The show is also not afraid to call out its 80's counterpart.

I'm glad they had the deal with Orco that he is in reality and all powerful super being who has never tapped in to his full talent and him being the butt of every joke and mocked in the original series was a huge issue (Though I don't believe he's died he's just trapped in another plane of existence) because this shines light on why mocking/bullying people is bad and can mean they never reach their true potential. Also, Cringer had by far one of the best lines of the show and was also pulled out of the joke character role, which I really liked.

So yeah, I want to see where Kevin Smith is going with this in season 1 part 2.

I have heard about the deal with skeletor, but I think he's doing it, so Adam will have to take on him as himself without power. He will have to forced in to the same situation She-Ra was as Adam has never had to just fight as himself whereas She-Ra was an orphan brought up on the side of evil and already a full trained to fight and kill before she even got the sword.

Adam always lived in a huge palace growing up, and he always had someone protecting his back. So this will force the stakes for him in a huge way I don't believe he's dead ether and as magic has returned he can now be healed. I also hope Evilyn does a Zuko but I think smith is setting it up that she'll get a real rude awakening in that Skeletor now has what he wants and will still treat her badly and I think her and beast man will betray him. I might be wrong but I think that guy likes her romantically as he's so loyal to her, it's just she's not aware of it yet.

SPOILER: Show
While I don't remember much of Orco and Kringer from the previous show, the fact that both of them are treated as respectable characters and not jokes is something that I liked. I also liked that Evil Lyn actually showed her good side by helping Orco out of the bullying and the naysaying that pulled him down. The "that's your parents talking" line, coming from her, was especially powerful.

I'm just blown away by the matrix resurrections trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JIThBMSABTo. The whole setup of the plot is so reminiscent of the original Matrix trilogy makes me think this is a Rebuild of some sort. Can't wait.
