Greek Mythology anime on Netflix Blood of Zeus.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JAQh544RHE
Really pleased, I have been wanting a Thor anime or something like this for a while now. Animation and visuals are striking and designs seem solid.
Hopefully Zack Snyder's upcoming Norse mythology anime will be just as good.

The 355
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xugboHXcG94
All female spy movie, looks kinda similar to the Charlie's Angels reboot but with a much better cast and a more serious tone.

Jack Reacher series coming out & Reacher has been cast - https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/amazo ... on-a178135
I hope the series doesn't rehash the novels that the 2 Tom Cruise movies already adapted (the bob lee swagger tv series did this rehashing the mark whalberg movie)
I would adapt the prequel novel The Enemy while Reacher was still in the army.
SPOILER: Show
New Year’s Day, 1990. The Berlin Wall is coming down. The world is changing. And in a North Carolina “hot-sheets” motel, a two-star general is found dead. His briefcase is missing. Nobody knows what was in it. Within minutes Jack Reacher has his orders: Control the situation. But this situation can’t be controlled. Within hours the general’s wife is murdered hundreds of miles away. Then the dominoes really start to fall.

Two Special Forces soldiers—the toughest of the tough—are taken down, one at a time. Top military commanders are moved from place to place in a bizarre game of chess. And somewhere inside the vast worldwide fortress that is the U.S. Army, Jack Reacher—an ordinarily untouchable investigator for the 110th Special Unit—is being set up as a fall guy with the worst enemies a man can have.

But Reacher won’t quit. He’s fighting a new kind of war. And he’s taking a young female lieutenant with him on a deadly hunt that leads them from the ragged edges of a rural army post to the winding streets of Paris to a confrontation with an enemy he didn’t know he had. With his French-born mother dying—and divulging to her son one last, stunning secret—Reacher is forced to question everything he once believed…about his family, his career, his loyalties—and himself. Because this soldier’s son is on his way into the darkness, where he finds a tangled drama of desperate desires and violent death—and a conspiracy more chilling, ingenious, and treacherous than anyone could have guessed

Your Honor series with Brian Cranston.
Looks fantastic.

Apple tv's Foundation adaption trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xgbPSA94Rqg
Apparently it does not appear to be faithful to the novel (which I am not familiar with), note them disabling comments. Regardless Jared Harris (chernobyl) makes it a must watch for me.

New killer Crocodile movie Black Water - Abyss trailer - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t8_bTJJ5lhs
First Black Water from 2007 was damn good but notably bleak feeling.

James Mangold (3:10 to yuma, the wolverine, logan) confirmed to be directing Indiana Jones 5. Great choice.

Halloween Kills first teaser - https://youtu.be/rHhZDYVoV7w
I believe Laurie screaming for them to let Myers burn is adapted from a un-filmed scene for Halloween 4 that would have shown Loomis being pulled from the blaze at the end of H2 and him trying to stop fire fighters from extinguishing Myers.
Sadly It has been delayed until October 2021.
SPOILER: Show

There does seem to have been a glut of werewolf movies its like the pandemic has gotten everyone interested in them again.

This is the first movie I've seen that openly deals with women sexually assaulting women which is a real world issue that gets over very overlooked in the media and in a way its fitting that horror should be the one to start the ball rolling on this topic.

Awesome as I love the original its one of my favourite werewolf movies plus that has a sequel book which would be great if it was put to screen (They did make a sequel in the 80's but it was kind of bad and had nothing to do with the book) in the true book sequel Karyn Beatty faces off against Marcia Lura and her ex-husband and there is a third book but I have yet to read it. So there is scope for a seond and third movie I also really hope they go for werewolf costume and limited CGI. ^_^

I originally posted this on the EvaGeeks Discord server, but have decided to just post it here as well.

This is the trailer for The Show, directed by Mitch Jenkins (mostly known as a photographer) and written by/co-starring Alan Moore, who's of course the main draw behind the project. It' set in a mythical version of Northampton (a recurring town in Moore's works since he was born and still lives there) and centers around a character played by Tom Burke who's there on some business for a mysterious client. Both the description and the trailer are quite vague and don't give off any actually usual plot points.

The film is a continuation of Moore's and Jenkins's five-part short film series Show Pieces, which acted as showcases and offered the first glimpses of the story that is begun properly in the film.

It premiers at the Sitges Film Festival. Whenever it'll get into cinemas/other venues more widely is a good question that has no answer as of yet. (It's possible that they may not go the route of a larger cinema release at all, because the current crisis and the fact this film has literally nothing going for it commercially besides from Moore's involvement don't exactly make it into the kind of thing cinemas would rush to put on the screen. With Tenet still under-performing despite being a Chris Nolan film with huge hype, it's possible that larger cinemas may not be interested in Jenkins's and Moore's film at all, though this is admittedly part of a larger question/speculation.)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN-KNh4 ... e=youtu.be

Edit: So turns out that the film itself is actually also the beginning of a larger story. According to Moore, he wants to make a TV series following the film too. And it won't just be a miniseries, he has four-to-five seasons of potential episodes planned.

MHW
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3od-kQMTZ9M

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8UUcif71zg4&ab_channel=SonyPicturesBrasil

Some one kill me now

I could do a very long rant on everything that is wrong with this having played MHW and Iceborne, but why bother? Its Anderson he stopped being a great director around Resident Evil 2 and all he does now it takes things from games he thinks look cool and puts them in along with making Milla Jovovich he's god female character who is just so bad ass she has no real trails or tribulations character wise and doesn't even cry or get horribly wounded ever.

Plus the game is about team work but no doubt she'll kill the Rathalos on her own in the final battle as the guy will get knocked out by circumstance even though she has no fire grade armour and her duel blades are first level and Rathlos and Diablos are both mid game bosses they're not beginner tier in the base game.

So yeah I fully expect him to run this franchise in to the ground in the same way....

The most impressive part of that trailer was the 5 studio logos that prefaced it, including Toho. ("The Godzilla Company," basically.)

Fidelity to the games aside, it looks like this pandemic is also shifting the sands within terms of who gets to make all of the big-budget, special effects extravaganzas. It used to be that America made the stupid, flashy Transformers movies, and China and other Eastern countries would all come in droves to watch them. Nowadays it's companies in China and Japan (who seemed to have been handling COVID-19 a lot better that our fine folks over in the U S of A) that are the major players in the genre, and Americans get to participate. I have no idea when this film was green-lit, but I'm pretty sure its potential success will possibly mark exactly when America stopped being a major player in the blockbuster productions in the world.

I'm not mad. (I am, actually, rather excited to see mid-budget films have a possibility of being larger contenders in the theater space once again.) But I am somewhat disappointed.

Within terms to fidelity to the games, I've never played them. So if anyone wants to inform me through a long-winded rant about how everything in here is bad, please do. I've never quite associated the US Military with anything Monster Hunter, for example, so that probably felt a little weird for a lot of fans.

In the MHW universe there are no portals (There is a Witcher crossover in the MHW base game but this is viewed as loose canon)

In the game holding a heavy weapon slows your run in that way its realistic so using a hammer or great sword becomes about timing.

Hunter trains all their lives to be good enough to kill monsters in the canon, you can't just pick up the weapons and expect to be good as its more medieval/ancient combat with magic buffs though some weapons are gun like, but they shoot different ammo's which are nothing like earth ammo and you have to make your own bullets.

So to say some US military man or woman would just get it misunderstands the fundamentals of how the fighting styles are so far different and how far removed they are from each other.

Not to mention armour is also magical and has buffs loose example Rathalos armour gives you protection from fire you also get extra buffs though powder potions and eating and gem slots all armour has gems on each piece there interchangeable. If you run at a Rathalos without fire gear you burn and cart (Carting is fainting)

You do get special mantles for fire res and health which work for a limited time then need to recharge when you don't have fire gear but the trailer neglects this important detail and has a character in no fire gear running at a Rathalos and without elemental blade upgrades. They are also upgraded in Iceborne.

Blades and weapons guns and bows give elemental damage and can be ungraded to defeat a monster you can poison it or use its opposite element. Fire would be ice or water, all monsters have a counter element they don't like.

Palicos are missing Palicos are cats that stand on hind legs and have human intelligence they are a hunting companions and aid all hunters they are brave little mogs that risk their life and sometimes distract the monster and stop it really hurting you, they can also lay traps and heal you and steal monsters bits for armour.

In the lore humans were really low in the food chain they were basically prey for monsters the older long-lived race the Wyverians who are like elves they look like humans but have dragon feet took pity on humans and taught them to hunt and defend themselves they were the inventors of monster hunting not humans, humans are not top dog in this world they are the lower on the pecking order.

The game has 4 players per monsters its not a one man or woman show its about team work and any ego or power of one bullshit in the game gets you killed and can cause the team to lose yes you can solo but for some monsters you need at least one team kill as they are very hard.
Anywhere can be paradise as long as you have the will to live. After all, you are alive, so you will always have the chance to be happy.

I never really understood why any adaptation has to adhere to anything. They're just using the name for brand recognition anyways. If Evangelion or Gundam had more brand leverage in the west, I'd argue Pacific Rim would have been Called Evangelion or Gundam as well. Granted, I have never played any Monster Hunter whatsoever, but to me this seems like they just made another isekai, lol! But instead of being a badly constructed fetish vehicle, this one seems to actually be striving to the the lowest common denominator in therms of quality.

I have no idea about Monster Hunter and most likely wouldn't have watched the movie either way, but from what I've gathered from some friends who do, the main problem they have with it is not any of the lore/gameplay nitpicks, but just the fact that MH has nothing in common with the aesthetic of that movie, that this is about as accurate to the game franchise as that Final Fantasy movie was

Minamata with Depp playing a calm serious role (I strongly appreciate when he does that).
Look, feel & theme of the film is giving be HBO's Chernobyl vibes but less horror or intensity and as a massive fan of that series I am strongly interested.

Hopefully Zack Snyder's upcoming Norse mythology anime will be just as good.
