As long as it's action packed I could care less.

As much I like Burton, I don't want him for the next movie. He already mess up Planet of the Apes, Willy Wonka, and Alice in Wonderland. I have a feeling that he will do the same with Godzilla.

Am I the only one that thought the Planet of The Apes remake was better than the original?

The remake of Planet of the Apes was okay, but the original was overall a better movie. I fee like Burton is not the best choice for the movie.

My Wachowski Sense is tingling. At least, I kind of wish it were.

It also looks like LP wants the new movie to be more closer to Gojira aka Godzilla 1954.

I'm not sure if a dark American Godzilla movie can work or not?

If done right, it could be very stellar

if done wrong, but not like how Zilla '98 turned it, it could be an admirable failure. a good, but failed attempt of sorts

if done wrong, but as bad/even worse than Zilla '98....

Well the original Godzilla movie from 1954 deal with the widespread devastation that the country had suffered in World War II. I don't see a Dark Godzilla movie really working in the USA since it will likely turn people off like Hulk 03 did.

Godzilla is honestly something very hard to do wrong, I mean you got a giant monster who smashes the hell out of a city, how hard is it to do that right? I'm honestly amazed they managed to do this wrong once, doing it twice would be almost inconceivable, then again I said the same thing about AVP and look what happened.

Godzilla is not a modern Hollywood concept. So it tends to work best when using non Hollywood techniques. That's the main fault of Godzilla '98. It takes all of these bizarre ideas and tries to give them credibility. In other words, they're over thinking a simple monster movie.

And Matthew Broderick didn't help either.

Brain Rogers talks about the upcoming movie.

http://zennie2005.blogspot.com/2010/09/godzilla-2012-brian-rogers-on-legendary.html

I like how LP is taken this project serious, and I hope nothing goes wrong with the movie.

I'm suddenly staring to like this idea.

2012 release? They'd better start shooting pretty soon.

I think they are looking a director right now. I hope its someone good, and has respect to the series unlike Roland Emmerich, who only directed G98 for the money.
