Fixed for my predicament. They haven't done it recently, but the years 2002 through 2007 were marked by insults of this nature.

When you write love letters to an NGE character and code them several times over, then create a made-up language and translate said love letters to it to keep your siblings from reading it and subjecting you to their ridicule and judgment. Yes, I'm saying I did that, when I was fourteen, I think.

You know you're obsessed with NGE when you viscerally identify with the plight of school children forced to pilot giant biomechanical robot creatures at the end of the world.

You know you're obsessed with NGE when your reaction to Asuka's mindfuck is "that's fairly accurate, but not as violent as the real thing".

when you write fanfiction for every other show/series/book/movie/skit/theatre play/music video/PSA/you-name-it you've ever seen at least once in your life... but you can't bring yourself to write EVA fanfiction because it feels like sacrilege. :sweatdrop:

i haven't done half the things listed in this thread... but it's not my fault! i blame my living in a small, third world country-- up until the moment god created check cards, access to EVA-related stuff was near impossible :shinji_boohoo:
bittersweet ending: episode 24. the angels are gone and mankind is safe... but tokyo-3 has been ruined; Kaji is dead; toji is a cripple; kensuke, hikari, and their families have moved away, taking pen-pen with them; Asuka is catatonic; ritsuko is in prison; Misato is a nervous wreck; Rei is "the third one"; and Shinji is utterly broken psychologically after having to kill the only person who has offered him unconditional love in the course of the whole series. come the movie? don't worry! it gets worse! ~from the source of all wisdom in the world.

When your friends and yourself start to just call each other by the characters they cosplay. When they start to leave the red contacts and grey or blue hair on at random times.

When you sadly prefer your characters name over your own name, well my name is just lame so no surprise there. When you went to college and was so happy when ur roommate left you "even though he looked like the lead singer from dragon force, loved anime and Eva and well there was that time he kissed me and it messed with me ;__;" just so you could be alone and take pictures like this.

And your girlfriend takes a picture, sends it to you and all you can think about is "hmm, it resembles this.

50 percent of the music you liten to is from the soundtrack, and you start to preform indepth psycoanalytical reviews of your life and others. (not to mention the hundreds on dollars you spend on eva merchandise.

I'm also currently writing a short skit for our church's Youth Drama around Komm, susser Tod.

Yeah, I should probably stop trying to convince myself that I'm not Eva obsessed. :sweatdrop:

Knowing or being curious a lot about a character or the characters in general doesn't really mean you are obsessed either. It's natural for a fan to want to know more about a character or look a little more into it.

Not weird. There was actually a poster one time who is a therapist that made a thread about what he/she thinks the characters may have.
