Yeah of all the nerve. Of course if Funimation was actually at fault here i would be pretty pissed too.... But yeah so far the theater's projector is more likely to blame.....And their incompetent staff.
The Vancouver showing was crystal clear. The staff actually ran a few minutes of the Bleach movie (they apologized for this) so they could balance the color settings for anime before 1.0 started. So yeah, I guess it's a matter of competence.
Alright. I revisited my local theater and made several complaints about the issues suffered on Wednesday. I got a reply back from one of the managers there who was nice enough to give me free entry into the second and last day of the Eva 1.0 screening.
So yeah 10 am today in the morning i managed to visit my local theater. Turns out after much testing the blame fell on the damn projector they were using. They promptly had it replaced. Since Funimation's Eva 1.0 disc was supposedly in High Def, they played it using a blu ray player. By god what a world of difference this time around. All the colours were normal and flashy. And the projector they were using this time was actually projecting a clear picture.
Ontop of that i also got a whole bunch of free passes for my friends that didnt make it to the second screening. Guess thats some redemption for you there.....
I'll give my own impressions on the dub itself a bit later.... YES.....Justice has been served!!!
