does anyone know why he freaks out during instrumetallity during the end of evangelion. why doesn't Rei lure him like she did with every one else. just want to know if there's a specific reason to this.

In order to get everyone to lower their AT Field, Rei/Lilith takes the form of whoever they desire most. Hyuga sees Misato, Maya sees Ritsuko, Gendo sees Yui....since Aoba saw nothing except terrifying Rei's, I'm led to believe he didn't truly care for anyone.

Supposedly Aoba is Nihilist which has to do with why he saw the Rei guides for what they really were. Still not sure where that claim is from, but it's something.

Don't know why but I settled for the fact that he wants all the attention from the ladies, but he doesn't know what to do when said ladies actually turn to him... looks like he's got a panic attack due to either agoraphobia or social anxiety.

I think that we see Rei's instead of a lot of women (or even men too, dunno) simply because he himself didn't look. He was the only one who didn't.

Instead, Rei got arse.
