I loved that movie! But I could see Kaworu watching movies all day to get to know humans better, and because he has nothing to do. Poor guy. :(

This got wordy, so I put explanations in spoilers for those interested.

Shinji- Disaster.

Seeing him watching one aside, I think disaster movies would really resonate with him. The plot of most of these is some normal schmo getting tossed in way over his head. I think he would be able to relate. Also, there may be a subconscious parallel drawn between the movies and his personal life.

Asuka- Action and Romance.

Don't laugh. Asuka has a very action-hero mentality and will likely gravitate towards movies that feature strong female leads (Aliens, Resident Evil series, etc) probably imagining herself in that role, only greater. On the other hand, she is consumed with romance toward Kaji (outwardly) and Shinji (inwardly). As such, she is likely to look toward romance movies, again, imagining herself in the lead female role.

Rei- "Old-School" Science Fiction.

Granted, this is Rei II I am talking about here. The old movies I am referring to are the ones that question human nature and explore what it means to be human. Think movies with plots a lot like many Star Trek episodes (particularly TNG) in this regard. However, personally, I think books offer a more rich resource in this area and I honestly see Rei as more of a reader than anything.

Toji- Action and Sports.

I don't think I need to explain this one. He seems to be a fairly typical teenage boy and this is the sort of thing most teen boys seem to like. However, I think he would gravitate more towards sports movies than action.

Kensuke- War.

Duh. I think he'd especially like heavily romanticized war movies, with a similar flavor as 1950s and 1960s American WWII movies (though likely from a Japanese perspective).

Misato- "Classic" Black and White.

As seen by her alcoholism, Misato is an escapist. Going back to the old black and white classics of Hollywood I think would fit that. 90 minutes of taking her to a world that had no idea of what Second Impact, angels or Evangelions were I believe would be right up her alley.

Ritsuko- Comedy.

Similar to Misato, I see Ritsuko liking comedies more than other movies not because she has a sense of humor, but because of tension release and escape. Then again, she spends so much of her time at NERV, her movie-watching is probably minimal.

Fuyutski- "Classic" Black and White.

This is just more of a generation thing. He would have grown up with such movies for most of his life and as such, probably enjoys them more than others.

As for other characters, I have no idea what they would watch.
