I got the idea from the anime topic. Is End of Evangelion one your favorite movies? For me it is and it my favorite animated movie next to Akira and Lion King, not to mention that I would put it on my Top 10 favorite movies list also.

I love the movie and seen like three times. To me it I enjoy it since it was powerfully deep, but also amazing on the physical conflict level as well like no other animated movie I seen so far. Not to mention I love the art direction too.

I really enjoy the first half, instrumentality gets boring after the 3rd go through. Its also something that if i'm watching on my tv, i have to worry about people who havnt seen it or a lot of anime and their looks of shear confusion. I remember the first time i saw it was at a friends house and no one else had seen the series, so whenever people came to see what i was watching they were all wtf?

For me, it's the kind of movie that you can't really watch all the way through. I remember the whole thing, but it's way too trippy to see all at once anymore. And any movie that I can't watch in a single sitting is a movie that isn't anywhere near my top ten list.

I can't stand EoE, as sweet as the Asuka fight scene may be... That movie totally succeeds at its intent of making me sick to my stomach

Probably is my favorite, if there was a way to rank such things in my head. I can't think of a movie I've watched more than Eva anyway.

Not especially. Shinji's flagrant douchebagishness in the movie drags it down a few notches.

Unfortunately no but still an enjoyable flick if you can tolerate the mind-bashing, second-half of the movie.

I really don't think EoE can be called a "flick." =P

You are aware of what the word flick means right? No, not chick-flick, just the freakin word flick. And by all accounts, it is a film
(regardless of the content) so that settles that.

When I read Victor Frankl's "Man's search for meaning", I think what he talks about is completely profound, but at the same time the book itself bores the hell out of me, I had to take it in about 10 minutes sittings over a two week period to read it all, and there were still things my mind fell asleep to.

Now End of Eva is far more exciting, but at the same time... It's like Passion of the Christ, if you're enjoying it, you're probably looking at it in the wrong way, or at least an unintended one. :shades:

I like the second half way more than the first half.

I'm really not sure how to rate it, though... I wasn't that impressed upon my initial viewing, but my opinion of it has grown dramatically over time.

Hey, it may be one of the best ANIME movies out there, but, I have to admit, I've seen a whole bunch of movies that I won't even mention that make EoE looks dented. Not that it's not a great movie, just that I think you've gotta be one really hardcore anime fan to have EoE as your favourite anime.

Of course it's my favorite, it's the got all the key elements of a awesome movie: Giant, naked white women with a vagina on her forehead; jerking off over a comatose redhead; Orange Juice; Pedophile Women; bitter sweet endings; and last but not least, Mind Fuckery.

Oh yeah, this is definitely my favorite.

Without a doubt.

Animation, images, music, ideas, atmospheres of EoE=best movie.
