CD single
Price: Yen- 1143, US$(12.95) Release Date: 25-Mar-2009
Single release from Yoko Takahashi featuring the theme to stunning anime series "Neon Genesis
Evangelion" such as "A Cruel Angel's Thesis" and "Fly Me To The Moon" plus her new song. The songs
are newly recorded and arranged.

How many versions of this song have they released now?

I wonder if the new take on Cruel Angel or the new song will be used in Rebuild 2.0? Personally, I liked the Decade version of the OP, it was nice.

That would be cool, but it would be better is I could at least hear what the song sounds like.

I know. >_< CDJapan's Japanese page usually has a sample of the songs, but in this case it doesn't. Maybe it's still being recorded or something.

There was a link on the eva blog when this was announced a few weeks ago, but I wasn't interested in it and now the page seems to have changed. It's weird, it used to be the main article but now it's gone completely.

A Cruel Angel's Thesis -2009 Version- DL
Dunno what about soundtrack for the film but this one original song is pretty good by itself. And still similar to Rebuild's arrangement.

It says other part must be soon... (c'mon, release was about 2 days ago)

:/
The (synth-)rock elements during the sung parts are ok, but the rearrangements during the instrumental parts at the beginning/middle... maybe it's because I'm so used to the "normal" version, but those parts just sound messed up, especially the repeats. And the whole start-up... nah, not really my thing. Sadly. I was kinda looking forward to hear this. :(

It's a weird version/remix, to be honest. I'll have to listen to it more times to decide whether I like it or not.

While I don't necessarily want those almost 5 minutes of my life back, this was alright (I pretty much prefer the original over any remake or remix). I'll admit that it would be nice if it's used somewhere in Rebuild 3.0 or even Final, however.

It's alright for what it is... but it really seems that it doesn't know what particular kind of remix/rearrangement it wants to be, so it just tried to be everything at once. Is it rock? Is it synth? Is it rave? Is it some sort of strange gospel choir thing? Or just regular J-pop?

Also: Is it wrong that at 2:05, I heard the lyrics as: "Party Harrrrd, blahahahjapanese, Party Harrrrrrd, blalaolalalalajapanese"?

It's all over the place, some of it seemed good but it just seemed very random in it's arrangement. Hopefully not the only version of the song that we will see come out of rebuild.

The new version is sooooooo weird.

That's the only way to describe it.
