I'd post this in the movie's thread, but I can't seem to find it. Anyway, the trailer makes the movie look as cliché and uninteresting as I've always found the show it's based on to be from the bits that I've seen.

That's technically not a teaser; it was slapped together (badly) to promote the film for licensors... or something to that effect. I can't imagine the final version can make the film look much better, but the lack of overall fanfare in that video clip should be a clue that it is not intended for theaters; even for horrible movies, teasers are generally awesome. A clip like that, were it final, would be in the league of ads for direct-to-video films at best, and for Fox to use it on the big screen would be equivalent to sticking a gun up their ass and pulling the trigger.

I kept holding out hope that this might actually be good. After having seen the trailer, I will have to join with everyone else who initially said this looked like it would suck ass.

The thing of it is... this will probably succeed with its target audience: people who just want to see if it can be done live and who don't care that much about the plot following the anime.
Hell, I'll go see it, why not? It will probably be dumb, over-the-top action with virtually no plot... just like the namesake anime.
Don't get me wrong, I love DB and DBZ, but let's call a spade a spade here: neither were long on plot, really. Good characterization, but not a wonderful plot.
