Joke aside, these are crazy good.
Lots of conflicted feelings on AI art.

I understand the issues with generating art from AI but still, these are some pretty great art pieces from Angel. There is a sort of contradiction in that robots are emotionless and technical rather than creative and expressive, and it's just bizarre that we are at a time in our lives when AI has progressed to the level of producing art. On the other hand, it could be argued that creativity in itself is just a set of random computations and judgements the artist acts on algorithmically based on their experience and subjective aesthetics so it should be easily replicated. Art hopefully can progress with technology so that the artist still retains their creative skills without an overreliance on technology, and technology continues to develop so that we get great art.

The art Angel has put up is pretty photorealistic and I doubt any artist can create without countless hours and advanced technology, or even a cosplayer spending hours trying to look like a Dakota Fanning version of Rei Ayanami. It just makes me think how much AI is going to affect fan art in the coming years, which undoubtedly is going to blur the lines between reality and fiction even further than previously. There is definitely going to be a progressive influx of creative anime pieces on Reddit, Tumblr and social media that have some AI elements that are really going to floor us in how realistic and original it looks so that we don't even know how it was even created.

Oh no question about it! This pieces are spectacular.
AI art has advanced so far in the last 5 years that conjectural sci-fi literature is now outdated.
Truly, how we define as "art" will be a matter of philosophical discussion for years on end, and like it or not, AI will become a staple of graphic design from now on.
My only true gripe with AI's is people feeding artist's work into them without consent in order to create pieces with their style. The whole suit of issues stemming from data falsification are concerning too.

Been spending way too much time in recent weeks prompting AI in an effort to illustrate stories I wrote decades ago - but, given that the canonical "is this switched on?" test is a rendering of Asuka, I took a break and played around doing a Thrice-inspired Shikinami-series gen -



This was actually way easier than trying to render simple scenes like "a grey skinned post-human girl skulking across the rooftops of a sci-fi not!Gormenghast".
