As far as my favorite parts of the series, I'd have to go with any scene that really shows the relationship between Shinji and Asuka.

the final scene in EoE. Asuka, who has every right in the world to hate Shinji (he tends to be useless, he doesn't return her feelings, he started off the movie in a bad way, he let her get torn apart by the MP Evas, and he's CHOKING her), still cares about him and shows that she cares about him by stroking his face. That's powerful. That makes you think. It's just a spectacular scene.

QFT. I love that scene because of just how powerful it is.

Classical music and violence are one of those weird combos that do not sound compatible on paper, but when done in conjuction with each other really work.

Yes, it's from Evangelion Death. Although the problem I have with that redone image is while Rei looks pretty when smiling, she doesn't have the sincerity as in her episode 6 smile. Her smile in Rebuild seems to be "third times the charm" where Rei not only is actually smiling, but the film also isn't suffering from lack of budget like in the series to look nice.

My guess would be that it's fan created, since I've never seen it before and I've watched the series two or three times. If it was in the show, then the only episode I can think of that would have shown it would be episode 26.

Rei is the power outage episode. When she tried to help and Asuka took over for show. Then didn't know how to lead. Cute.

My favorite scene in Evangelion is in the movie, End of Evangelion. Its where Gendo is lying on the floor of Central Dogma and hes talking to Yui about how he was running away from Shinji. I like it because its so ironic that the person, in the series, who seemed to be so invincible is actually human like the rest of us. I also like it because Gendo gets his head bitten off by Eva Unit-01. He really deserved that.

My favorite scenes?

The best would be from EoE, when Asuka unleashes that massive beat down on the Harpies, almost immediately after coming out of a coma. and then her death almost immediately afterwards. Anime/manga has only ever made me tear up twice, this was one of those moments.

Next would be Asuka's mind rape. It just seems to sum up the entire series at that one moment.

Rei acting motherly, I just like it.

And finally, Asukas last line in EoE, I used to think she was referring to the masturbation, but I'm not so sure anymore. I think it shows that Asuka is still Asuka, and she still has trouble showing her feelings, so she covers them up. Makes sense to me at least.

Well, I think all my favorites have already been mentioned in this thread. Actually I don't think the alternate universe sequence in episode 26 was said, so I'll say it. The first time I saw it, I thought "lolwtf?" and thought it was pretty awesome in a weird way. I love the ditzy Rei, running to school with toast in her mouth and how she's the exact opposite of 'regular' Rei.

Haha, I actually watched the Japanese version with English subs, but I've seen the English dub one on Youtube. Good too, except for Hikari's and Asuka's voices...eeewww. Hearing Rei talk obnoxiously was too funny, of course.
