Uhhh... I'm getting a new computer, or something.

Hey, Aaron, out of curiosity, how much did it cost to get that stuff sent to you from jpqueen?

Merry Christmas 8)

With some of the gift cards I received I am getting NGE manga, Volume 9 and Der Mond. Then on the 28th I will use some of my Best Buy cards and get volume 4 of the platinum series.

Aye, Merry Christmas an' all that jazz.

I didn't get anything Eva-related, thanks to a habit of impulse-buying that leaves me wondering if there's anything else I could want. I suppose manga vol. 9 counts as a present for myself... (although I ordered the thing weeks and weeks ago).

I'll be hitting the eBay auctions shortly though. Lack of buying inspiration never lasts too long.

Yahoo! Japan has more Eva crap that the mind can comprehend...

You know, I always wonder every year -- how many Christians know that they're celebrating a Pagan holiday today? Ah, ignorance is a very mighty force indeed. (That and commercialism.) At least the Jehovah's Witnesses did their homework (even if they refuse to participate in birthday parties as a result).

Not me. I just got an HDTV with 5.1 surround sound speakers and a bunch of money with which to buy anime.

I was going to get Evangelion Platinum Vol. 4 but instead I'm getting
All of Kino's Journey
Volumes 2-4 of Saikano
Vol. 5 of Texhnolyze
Vol. 1 of Azumanga Daioh
Alien Nine
Millennium Actress
Haibane Renmei Image Album

To tell you the truth, as I go deeper and deeper into the world of anime, Evangelion drops down on my list of favorite anime. It used to be number one, then number two when I discovered Haibane Renmei. Now I think it is number 10 or 9. If Kino's Journey is just an absolutely excellent anime, then Eva is going to be knocked off the list entirely.

Eva is still a good anime, it's just that I don't think it's as good as I used to think it was.
A person...is a shadow which we can never penetrate, of which there can be no such thing as direct knowledge, with respect to which we form countless beliefs, based upon words and sometimes actions, neither of which can give us anything but inadequate and as it proves contradictory information-a shadow behind which we can alternately imagine, with equal justification, that there burns the flame of hatred and of love.

Gotta love the supression of pagan peoples by taking over their holiday and changing what it means.

Reichu wrote:Hey, Aaron, out of curiosity, how much did it cost to get that stuff sent to you from jpqueen?

The Continuity of Evangelion - $9.50 each
Newtype Film book 1-9 - $20.25
The End of Evangelion DEATH Newtype Film Book - $4.90
The End of Evangelion Air Newtype Film Book - $3.90

The cost of the books was $67.05. While the books were dirt cheap, shipping was outrageous....

So it cost $130.05 total. Not bad, but shipping was the bulk of the cost. And it looks to me like their shipping prices were more expensive due to the holidays.

I think it's even funnier that NOW so many "good Christians" don't even know the true story, even though all the data is readily accessible...

I was going to order from jpqueen after you showed me the site, but shipping, like, doubled the price of everything, so I figured I would hold off. Besides, they didn't have the fifth storyboard book, and it seems that on Yahoo! Japan book 5 is only bunched with the first four. Too bad so many of those proxy bidding services rob you blind.

Let's see, I got Texhnolyze volume 1, and . . . Texhnolyze volume 1 and . . . :(

Perhaps I should be more assertive in what I want for Christmas?

Ugh, Alien Nine is what would happen if I myself tried to write a story. I can't write.
The purpose of writing is to inflate weak ideas, obscure poor reasoning, and inhibit clarity. With a little practice, writing can be an intimidating and impenetrable fog!

I took a look at some stuff on there earlier. Their shipping prices have dropped with the passing of Christmas.
