Conversation between Rei-Lilith and Shinji continues, with lots of flashbacks to the events in the series, involving the people who have disappeared. Shinji finally makes up his mind and links hands with Rei-Lilith.

If I read correctly he's just going to skip a month for now, I see 05月号 in the last page... Damn it, stupid Sadamoto, just put an end to this sufferance! He already trolled the hell out of me yesterday when I saw that image, now I'm starting to have delusions again, you know.

How many breaks do you need Sadamoto? You're adapting a completed anime series into a manga. The job's pretty much already done for you.

It could also be that Kadokowa might be having him time his chapters so that everything will end at a particular moment such as when the BD of 3.0 will be released in Japan (I don't think it's a coincidence that volume 13 was released roughly two weeks before the release of the film). I that's the case, then everything is happening according to plan.

You can't see their faces in NGE2 but it seems to me like their looks are meeting, the manga seems more melancholic instead.

Not exactly, Rei is clasping Shinji's hand with both her hands while in EoE it was Shinji who took her open hand, it wasn't really a handshake, but I'm waiting for a translation before saying anything else.

After dealing with complicated concepts like the elimination of mankind and battles with angels, I think I'd like to take a little time to work on something more related to my day-to-day, immediate surroundings. For my next manga project, I'd like to do something more compact and approachable. As examples, there's Archaic Smile and R20, both of which I was hoping to see to at least one full volume. When Evangelion wraps up, I'll consider pursuing these projects or some other project of similar scale.

I'd be interested in an extended R20, let's see where that crazy guy can go.

I was thinking of this when I woke up this morning after seeing EoE again and now that I think of it there could have easily been a way Shinji could have made third impact happen without wishing "Everyone would just die." maybe in this canon he could have instead wished "For a world that I will never be hurt again." or something related to that where he won't feel pain again and Rei could have started instrumentality to grant that wish and after seeing what is the end result he, like in the manga and anime rejects it and the rest plays out like it is going now.

I came up with that in 5 minutes and Sadamato has been working on this for nearly 20 years. Would it really have been that hard for him to have come up with a small change like that?
