Any word on REBUILD 2.0 yet?
How does Anno expect to get 3.0/4.0 out in time for the summer if 2.0 isn't even out yet, let alone trailers?

I doubt 3.0/4.0 will be out this year.
I fully believe that when the original announcement of these films was made (you know- when 2.0 was supposed to come out in January 2008) Anno and the crew were just being far too ambigious.
The movies will hopefully require them to be longer or its just Anno being Anno like in his amibtions.
My guess is these are going to be a 1 movie a year deal and 2.0 will come out around the same time 1.0 did last year. Probably anywhere in August or September and the final ones will premiere teh same time in 2009.

Oh revel in our time sirs, I'm in no hurry; it's not even out in america yet.
2 years ago we were lamenting that Eva was essentially over and the live action project was still in development hell.
Rebuild is like the whole series is REALLY happening all over again, #1 film in Japan, etc.
It hasn't even appeared in America yet.
Frankly they could release ONE of these four movies a year and I'd be happy; gives us more time to analyze...

Who is "Codename V"?....
I'm pleased to meet you and I hope you guessed my name, but what's puzzling you, is the nature of my game...so catch me if you can!! (0:50)

You say you say you want a REvolution?...

And we all know they will stretch this out as long as they can

That would be awesome. In an "Anno satirizing himself" kind of way.
For whatever reason, I actually don't think I would feel a thing if the rest of the movies never happened.
(BTW, is there supposed to be anything relevant at that link?)

Nah, I just did it for the lulz
And wishing from my part.
Why link to NHK? My, very few of us understands moonspeak so figuring out if that link has anything relevant would be hard
Actually I'm same with Reichu. With the exception I would be rather disappointed if Rebuild was cancelled but I would've preferred that Anno would do something completely different from EVA.
Shiki-Jitsu is in my Top Ten movies of all time, Love&Pop was fine film too and Cutie Honey was absolutely hilarious tokkusatsu flick. That's why I'd like to see guy direct another movie on par of Shiki-Jitsu, I know he can do that. Or maybe even direct another anime, now how awesome that would've been? (though I find it funny Gendo's Papa thinks that Anno is Master Supreme in animation on same level as Tarkovski or such but only somewhat above average in live action flicks. Shiki-Jitsu is magnificent film and by far second best Anno work after EVA. And that film surpasses EVA on many fronts btw)
I can't decide which one I would've rather seen from him. New anime or new movie.
But Rebuild... meh, especially if this turns out to be some sort of an shitty "lol sequel" thingy... boo
But Eva 1.0 was good movie on its own right. Pacing was a bit off during first half but otherwise it was great.

HAH HAH I SAW RIGHT THROUGH YOUR EFFORTS!

I can't say I have much of an emotional investment in the thing; any excitement I feel towards Rebuild is, ultimately, shallow. Yeah, it's cool to see more Eva, and sparkly animation, and all... But it really boils down to an indulgence on the productions' part, and what Rebuild encompasses is nothing I ever felt a need for.
Plus, sort of like you, I'm not terribly eager to have the last installment come out only to learn that Anno's sabotaged the original canon after all.
Yeah. Onward and upward.

i saw rebuild 1:0 in Japanese and even though i dont speak it or understand i still thought the film was amazing. It will take sometime im guessing to get it translated but i've seen torrents :S up online with subtitles (havent actually tried any).
all i can say the longer it takes the more time they will have to polish it off and make it even better. i liked 0:1 a lot but i still think it was a little rushed and could have been better

i do agree with you there. the first half was a lot like the death and rebirth DVD. it was like a hash of the first few episodes cutting a lot out to shorten the time it took which anoyed me. The second half with the all new angel battle was awesome. It was the first time the film really showed its worth. All i hope is that 0:2 stays in the same direction and doesnt end up just a rehash with a slightly better ending.
