I got that same debug issue when responding to the 25 and 26 thread in the discussion sub-forum.

Mail server is fine, my ssh connection to it hasn't been dropped. It may have something to do with the server move (which happened yesterday).

Is this still happening?

There's a bunch of random issues that I suspect has something to do with the server move. It looks like dreamhost may have mirrored the site on the old server for a while, and that may have had some unintended side-effects.

For instance, you may not be able to upload an avatar, I was able to from the old IP but not from the new one.

There's also the issue with the SMTP debug error. The mail server is fine and I'm looking at the packet logs, for some reason, packets from dreamhost on occasion never reach the mail server. So either they never got sent or got "lost" in transit.

If this keeps happening after the next few I'll take a look at it again, but right now I can't find anything wrong.

I'll just throw this out there because there are a few multiple posts appearing in some threads.

If you see the SMTP error, it means your post was successful, so don't try again!

If you see only 24 boxes, either your counting is off or there really is a glitch somewhere, because I see 35. He added those extra boxes himself, and his title was briefly "Administrator with boxes".

Also, that's just my avatar (the boxes) because I was testing the avatar thing.

Working on the invalid HELO command now, should be fixed soon.

EDIT: OK fixed. People can register now. PHPBB is lame. Dreamhost can suck it.

Our hosting service had some switch issues this morning:

Network problems due to Distribution Switch:

it looks like one of our distribution switches in our primary data center became unresponsive and all racks/switches attached to it have gone offline. This is affecting the following machines:

We have already dispatched someone to check it out and hopefully will have status updates soon.

Update 05:27 AM PDT After some troubleshooting it looks like there is a hardware problem with the switch and we are replacing it with a spare.

Update 06:13 AM PDT Switch has been replaced and connections are being brought up. Some of the machines on the list should already be responding. The rest should be back up soon.

Sorry about the downtime, it wasn't my fault this time.

I have no clue. Whatever was causing it wasn't something that we configured, it's possible there's a bug somewhere. I fixed it by changing the forum_id.
