What do you think of Japan?

Yeah. You read right. This is for everything that doesn't have anything to do with Eva.

Different.

Great culture and entertainment.

Decadent as fuck.
If I have no soul to touch, no heart to love, no evil to rise up above
No angels and no ghosts, no real victories to toast
If you believe that this is true then I must ask;
to what end do you proceed?

Decadent. Nice way of putting it. No, I think it is more towards losing its own characteristic of being Japanese.

I do have to say suicide is a problem.

Producers of the world's weirdest shit since 1945.

Further comment seems unnecessary.

I like some of their laws and government and society and stuff, but they're also rather odd. They produce the best animation in the world. So, great country, don't know if I'd like to live there. They're racist people, from what I've heard. Not fond of white people living there, unless they're there on business. (ばか 外人)

China also has slightly less free enterprise.

Their unnecessary and cruel whaling convinces me that they are anti-environmental people. And I hate those whalers so much I would like to kill them the way they kill whales. Poor whales...

I also hate their polluting and overcrowding cities. In my opinion, there's no good thing about Japan other than their anime and a few other different things.

They have the most strictest recycling I've ever seen, 7 different types of trash, and you need to take them out different times of the week. Although Tokyo was pretty crazy crowded, they have an amazing public transportation system (although the Tokyo subway map looked like a kid took a box of crayons and doodled) and nearly everyone uses them to get around as well as travel through Japan. As for air pollution, I don't know what you're talking about: http://www.portfolio.mvm.ed.ac.uk/studentwebs/session4/27/citydiff.htm

Pollution. I meant those really crowded cities like, Tokyo and all. Skies rarely give blue, and, they say the amount of cars and air pollution in the skies is troubling as well. Maybe I didn't say it correctly. Not ground pollution, but air pollution. In fact, that's what really is troubling me around the world.

EDIT: I wonder why they need to recycle 7 different types of trash? That just also pretty much says that the cities use too much waste.

I was there, the skies were blue, I even have pictures. Did you bother to click on the link? The numbers for Tokyo are really small for that population size.

It's like that everywhere in Japan, they RECYCLE EVERYTHING, meaning they produce less real trash.

No...but...I meant that certain cities have it. Besides, if it doesn't, at least you could see some smog covering cities like a thick blanket due to carbon dioxide!!!

Maybe I am being too criticism about Japan...agh, I just hate it the way they treat those poor whales.

Bee-Zerk, you read too much, go visit some of the places you criticize, and then you'll see.
In other news, I'm going to Japan in 3 months!!!

They are recycling 7 different ways to save the trouble of the people in the recycling centres to have to sort them out, as there aren't as many of those people in the centres, so they don't really want to waste time sorting it through.

From someone who speaks a bit of Japanese and who has been many times, my major impression of Japan is that it's just like a nation-wide theme park, with all of the good and bad aspects of one. If Disney ran a country, it would be Japan.

Despite the fact that Japanese culture is a fucking bunch of weird and homoerotic shit, its worth mentioning that the living standards there are pretty fucking good and the country possesses a thriving, growing economy that's about 60% that of the USA's (at the end of the war they only posessed 5% of the US's GPD), so it's actually a cool place to live

That part of Japanese culture is pretty minor compared to others. Yes, it is a miracle that our economy managed to builditself from the ashes within 60 odd years.

It's as fucked up as everywhere else. But used panties in a vending machine is a nice touch.
