Cowboy Bebop
I just finished up Cowboy Bebop, and I'm happy to say it lived up to the hype. I especially enjoyed the episodes with the year old sandwich and the mushrooms. Good shit...
Next on the list is Noir.

Year old sandwich? You mean the one with the Ganymede Rock Lobster?
Yeah, "Mushroom Samba" is my second favorite episode, with "Ballad of the Fallen Angels" as number one.
But you really need to track it down in English some day.

-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

LOL, I meant to post that in the "What anime are you watching now" thread.
Whoops
But since I'm here...
Yeah Yeah, that one, that one!
One of these days I'll get a Season Pass on my Tivo for it.

My favorite episode was also Ballad of Fallen Angels (one of my favorite anime episodes in general really), with Toys in the Attic, Pierrot le Fou and The Real Folk Blues Part II trailing close behind.
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

Understood, but in my defense, I DID try to delete my initial post in order to move it. Brik had already posted though, so it wouldn't let me.
EDIT: Hey look, I started a thread without even trying!

Mr Tines, just think of it as us recommending episodes of a particular anime.

Brain Scratch was my least favorite episode. But the worst episode of Bebop is better than the best episode of anything else.

They were similar in tone to any other episode that dealt with the characters' pasts.

@ Ornette: Me thinks it's because of SPIKE DIES. *shrugs*
Anyway, I've only seen the 1st Episode in Japanese so far (have the 1st volume of the DVD), and some episodes in English on Adult Swim, including that Old Food one. Which was pretty amusing, considering at first I thought it was some "ZOMG Serious" subject with that episode.
What I like about the show: It's Kaji in Space. Seriously. 8)
The first episode is a great way to start it, I think. The one thing I'm lost about is was that woman pregnant, or did she simply stuff all those pills into her dress? I thought it was the former, but...
