Years ago, there were rumors that Fox was looking to make a live action production of Dragon Ball Z, but those were supposedly dispelled and whatever was being produced was scrapped...

But... WE WERE WRONG. It's happening. Is it a curse, or a blessing...? I don't know what to call it...

Makes you wonder, though... if LADBZ is happening... is LAEM truly next? Will this be the push?

A "farce", perhaps?

I enjoyed DBZ, but, yeah... Some things were just never meant to be visualized outside of their highly stylized universes. Kind of like Super Mario Bros.

Maybe it will at least be laughably bad.

That works. A farce, yes.

Some things were just never meant to be visualized outside of their highly stylized universes. Kind of like Super Mario Bros.

That's true, but I sorta liked the Mario Brothers movie. Maybe it was a bit... out there, but it's a cult classic... right? But, yeah, I do agree it is a good example.

Maybe it will at least be laughably bad.

Heh... yeah... but, who knows? It coould theoretically turn out interesting... but tthat's highly wishful thinking.

Finally, a live-action adaptation I can really sneer at.

(In before it reaches over eight thousaaaaand!)

There already was a live action Dragonball movie that came out years ago. I saw it once on the International channel. And oh god was it bad. Laughably bad. I'm pretty sure it's available on DVD.

I have it, it wasn't laughably bad, it was painfully bad, the animated version of dbz is laughably bad, but this was just painful.

The DBZ anime is okay if your in the mood for some mindless fun, but some things just won't work in Live Action. What's next? A live action version of that old Hana Barbara Cartoon Underdog? Oh wait...

Not in this thread, but it's been done elsewhere over 9000 times.

I wish someone would MST3K Evangelion. You know, recreate the entire character silhouettes at the bottom of the screen and impersonate the voices of Crow, Tom, and Mike. That would be awesome.

Only if it was done by people with knowledge of Evangelion. I.E keep the ADV cast and crew as far away from the project as possible.

^ A lot of people pray for an MST3K'd version of Evangelion without ADV's participation?

Maybe we could gather all the folks here at EMF to watch Eva in MST3K-style and raise enough dough to steal the licensing away from ADV.
