Did Rei II have a love for Shinji?

I think it is a reference to all the Rei's in the Reiquarium.

Well Reiquarium is really Rei IV... we can't really say much about them...

My brother has one just like that, as well as one of the later 2100s. Sadly, the real ones don't have color screens or funky LCARSish interfaces, but they're still nifty, albeit brick-like, things.

i've been thinking... is this really even Rei were asking about i mean Rei is the name of the shell that Lilith resides in so i think were asking "did Lilith have a love for Shinji?". if not oh well... i'm not intent on getting hung up on it.
aside from that the love part to me is... well it could be the one of a few be it motherly, bro/sis , or that of a lover. come to think of it just how many 14 year-old meet their soul mate at that age?

I think of it as a Motherly/Sisterly kind of love. Especially since he never got the love of a mother, well he did but not for very long, and experiences this from Rei/Lilith.
I wrote an essay and talked a little about this. I'll try posting it when my teacher has finished grading it. (She's a huge Eva fan too, so she'll correct me if I'm wrong

well, i would guess that on 1st time someone watches that show, they wouldnt really understand that Rei IS Lilith, so all those noobs (no offense) would probably recognize the current title a LOT more
....and this doesnt really seem like chit-chat to me

1302 English based on Anime
2302 or 2353(don't remember) is my next English class based on Anime
(same teacher too :P )Btw, I got an A-, not bad for my first watching... but once I read it over I saw where my mistakes were... Ever since I've watched it about 3-4 times, and have read all these discussions... I wasn't too far off course, but nothing compared to some of you gurus here.

Rei III's musings at the start of episode 25 indicate that there is a Rei-personality constructed over the underlying Lilith nature. In the NGE universe this is akin to the "does the mind rule the body or the body rule the mind?" issue -- how much is the Rei shell like a prism showing different aspects of the Lilith nature underneath.
