Extra Curricular Lesson with Hideaki Anno
Moderator: Board Staff
I too am waiting eagerly :)
This piece also makes you wonder what kind of relationship Anno has (or had) with his parents.
We all know Anno's statement that Him = Shinji deal - although true - is not to be taken entirely literally (Anno doesn't masturbate over comatose girls unless certain annoying voice actress seem to think *sigh* Dam you Tiffany!) and "he didn't throw me out or anything" laughing remark on his father.
However, I somehow get strange feeling from reading the part with his parents. Very strained or a bit awkward one feel.

I think I've stumbled on the correct episode of Welcome Back for a Lesson which features this Anno talking to kids/Ultraman stuff, but I haven't watched it all yet. If Ornette or EM can tell me how the episode begins then I'll know for sure, so I can split it up and stick it on some video streaming site for everyone to watch.

Zuggy, that would be great. It seems like Ornette is never going to release this.

-On EMF, as a thread becomes longer, the likelihood that fem-Kaworu will be mentioned increases exponentially.
-the only English language novel actually being developed in parallel to its Japanese version involving a pan-human Soviet in a galactic struggle to survive and to export the communist utopia/revolution to all the down trodden alien class and race- one of the premise being that Khrushchev remains and has abandoned Lysenko stupidity

Anno? Teaching kids? Wow, I cannot WAIT to watch this.
"All alone, or in two's / The ones who really love you / Walk up and down outside the wall. / Some hand in hand / And some gathered together in bands / The bleeding hearts and artists / Make their stand. / And when they've given you their all / Some stagger and fall, after all it's not easy / Banging your heart against some mad bugger's wall." - Pink Floyd

There isn't any predetermined dialogue in the interviews, so it's mostly Anno talking in circles. I opted to leave the subtitles a bit more literal (like they are on the DVD) instead of just getting the general ideal. Example: "Yes, I remember this stream. Back when I was a kid. There were a lot of leeches." as opposed to: "I remember this stream from when I was a kid and it had a lot of leeches." The latter may sound easier to read, but it's not really what he's saying, because he's kind of making this stuff up as he goes, and he's haphazardly tacking on stuff to the end of what he says.
The other problem with the DVD subtitles, is there's a lot of walls of text that are 5 or 6 lines. I'm going to break them down into fewer lines and re-time them, but I can't do that until I get the re-check back.

I, too, have patience. I know it'll be worth the wait.

Ornette's trying to build more anticipation.
