Can't you be boringly normal (lol, emo) and still be mental? I mean, couldn't you have mental problems and still be boring? (Look at me for example I get frequent bouts of mild depression and stuff, but you don't see me exactly proving mental issues in spectacular fashion)

I personally believe the former, and do think things CAN be okay between them, they could become a couple, provided they get their own issues squared away first. (...Wonder if surviving while waitin' around for people to return from 3I could possibly help with their problems--since they know now what makes the other tick--or if it would only make things worse??)

Personally, I'd describe as being opposite in terms of personality (Shinji-Introvert, Asuka-Extrovert) but similar in terms of how they deal with their problems ("lolz Piloting Eva lets me be me!") so to answer your question I'd say yes....I think.

My stance

Shinji and Asuka DO have romantic feelings for each other. Immature feelings (they're teens for pete's sake), to be sure, but feelings nonetheless. I take this stance not for any sentimental reasons, but because it's right there in the series. For example, as others have noted, there is a thematic "parallel", for lack of a better term, between Yui's caress and Asuka's caress. (I'm too lazy right now to type it out in greater detail.)

Actually, Asuka has the bandages there as a security blanket; she imagined herself in her own heart healed because she couldn't move her right arm otherwise (something that only JUST sunk in recently).

I think they can become happy due to the whole 2nd chance they have and knowing the feelings they have for eachother and all. (lol romantic at heart.)

@ reference: I kinda know what the movie's about, so I'm glad I don't get the whole reference. :shock: I personally really like that OTHER Crash movie (the one about stereotypes and stuff).
