im sure every1 has noticed, but y'kno in the 1st few episodes, the few times Rei spoke, she talked at a normal volume, but towards the end of the series, she began whispering.
y's that?
is it a flaw in the series?
or is it how she became more dettacted from the world?

Probably.

Never noticed that. Then again I'm dumb as hell, so I probably wouldn't. And I think I started to ignore Rei altogether towards the end of the series.

With everything else going on (Kaji's Death, Asuka's Depression, Shinji being Shinji) I just didn't care about Rei that much.

I don't recall that happening in the original dubbing. It's probably just an add on done later in the series to get even more into character, or something stupid like that.

I'm going to assume that's the dub, because I don't ever recall Rei talking like that in the Japanese version.

And Touji was played by 3 different guys in the original ADV Dub. What's your point?

The only thing I've noticed in the Japanese version is that Rei's voice sounds slightly different between Rei II and Rei III. Is that what your talking about?

Sachiel_13 is talking about Amanda Winn Lee in the dub.

The answer to the question is that no, it isn't a flaw in the series. However it is further proof that you should be watching the original Japanese.

I don't think that's as true as one might think. There's a stark contrast between Rei II at the end, and Rei III as she goes back to square one.

i think with the voice...the voice actor just did what all actors do...you keep developing with the character as you go...

its really not that inportant...certainly not evident enough to be a flaw...

Agreed. We should ban the dub from our daily lives and expel AWL's evilness from the face of the earth, once and for all.

i agree with banning Dub :p. I"ve seen end of eva in french and english dub.

Shinji in the english version is "gay" and Shinji in fr version is like a guy of 18-20 years old (voice) really wtf, whatsup with those dubs.... i tought in eng of fr that Toji's voice is like from someone who's 30 years old .... common O_o Don't even dear to watch evangelion dubbed and it screws with Rei's voice too. It's only compatible with Japanese voice

Haven't seen EoE in French dub nor do I want to considering your experiences with it. AWL should just have her vocal cords removed by force and with no anaesthetics.

I can't describe it... >_< Episode 23 (obviously) is the best example of hearing the difference though.

If you can't describe it, how do I know what to listen for?

well, in the beginning of the english dub, Rei talks slightly louder and with more emotion, but i think it becomes a whisper after the epsiode that was mainly focused around her, i think the 6th or 7th epsiode. im not sure

Is it any surprise that they didn't know how the show was going to pan out?
