What's the strangest thing your neighbors have ever done?

This was really peculiar:

One day a few years ago there was a flock of vultures perched on my roof. Presumably they were doing what vultures do and waiting for something nearby to die so they could chow down. I hadn't been out that day so I had no idea they were there. My neighbors called the police and told them they suspected I was hiding a corpse in my attic. The cop looked really embarrased when he came to my door.

Cop: "Do you know there's vultures on your roof?"
Me: "No I've been indoors all day."
Cop: "I'm sorry sir, when we get a call we have to at least ask. Your neighbors called and said you might have a corpse in your attic. Do you have a corpse in your attic?"
Me: Uh... no."
Cop: "Thank you sir, that's good enough for me. Goodbye!"

I know who did it of course; the same ones who call the city the instant they think someone's trees need trimming or house needs painting.

Until very recently, there was a 63yo man that lived next door. He was pretty much dumped here by his family. Alcoholic, used some other drugs (like shrooms). Had a cute 10yo Shih Tzu. Poor dog. He'd go on ramblings every 3 days or so.

Well basically he got into a fight with the building manager and I asked him not to do that. He got very mad at me, and started "passively" sabotaging me. Not by gossiping or anything like that, he'd just really odd stuff like hanging a garbage bag on my bike's handles.

Anyway, he saw me on the hallway and instantly attacked me. Tried to grab a knife. I held him down for a while before someone called the police. He kept saying he'd kill me and everyone in the building, and bit my hand.

On a general note: having lived in several homes and cities really tells you how there's no such thing as "normal", really. Only in a very broader sense. You can see how different families have many different small cultural differences amongst themselves.

^ That guy sounds like he's menatlly ill. I hope the police took him somewhere where he could be treated.
