I read here that Toji was playing basketball in a wheelchair in original storyboards for EoE. What's the context for the situation? Is it possible to find images anywhere?

Kensuke and Toji were saying farewell to Shinji, because both them and Hikari were leaving (for Germany I think), but Shinji was too depressed at this point to care.

No, you can see that one of his legs was amputated and you can see one of his arms; the other is just obscured by his body.

Missing End of Evangelion Sequence

I have attached the translation to a "missing" Eva movie scene found in the Story Board Collection (SBC) in the limited edition LD/VHS movie collector's box set. According to the SBC sequence, this scene comes just after Shinji's masturbation scene in Asuka's hospital room, and it carries some sinister implications if you read between the lines...

EDIT: Oh, and also, Shinji had already said that Kensuke and Toji had left at the beginning of episode 24. I take it this was meant to be a flashback, then? But Shinji wasn't that extremely depressed until after he killed Kaworu...

Well, as for the sinister aspect I can only think that since they're going to Germany, SEELE has something "special" planned for them.

I'm pretty sure they're serious about thanking Shinji. I mean, come on, though he's not quite heroic now, he saved the world quite a few times before.

Well, since the MPEs used Kaworu Dummy Plugs, that would mean that the Evas could do what they truly wanted to (as Yui did when the Dummy Plug was activated inside her), and I doubt that the ol' class rep wanted to disembowel and eat Asuka.

One thing that puzzles me is why would they want to do anything to those 3 to begin with? Touji I could kinda see, as he's the Fourth Children and all, but Hikari and Kensuke?? :? Just because they know Shinji and Asuka (and Rei, but she's not buddies with the classmates, soo...)??

I know! Kensuke somehow found out the Truth (about Third Impact) so they wanted to ice him Kaji-style to prevent such things from leaking out!

It's funny...when I first read the line about "We're going to Germany", I instantly thought, They're gonna stick around so they can harass Asuka if she ever visits there?? :mrgreen:

*spooky voice* Because it's all in Shinjiii's headdd.... Or just artistic license/weird camera angles for the hell of it.

In terms of Shinji being depressed, he seems to be always like that more or less (only time I think he WASN'T was during Action Arc) feeling that way, so he could just be in one of his moods and or still feels very gulity about what happened to Touji/in general what his two friends went through. *shrugs*

Not seeing Toji would be artistic liscence. By not seeing him yourselves, it's implied that Shinji doesn't see him either. In other words, he doesn't want to see what he did.

The question arises as to what Toji is thanking Shinji for, or whether it's sarcastic (or if Toji means well but Shinji takes it wrongly).

I'd also be interested as t whether Toji expected Shinji to catch the ball and play with him, or if he actually threw it at him aggresively, pissed off by his detachment, and ditches him.

In addition, any ideas as to where I might be able to find storyboards (scanned?). I'd be very interested.
