Then I'd say "maturity" is a poor way to pin down someone's value. Everyone is flawed in some way, and to say a certain group of people are more flawed is somewhat prideful. While you can look at trends and draw some shaky correlations, all people of a certain sway aren't flawed in the same way or for the same reason. It's such a totally anti-individual viewpoint to me. I don't assume an array of things because someone is a parent, so I find it bizarre to lead with "must be immature" when the subject is someone without children.

To be fair, I wasn't trying to pin down someone's value on "maturity". I was just mentioning how philosophers could be inteligent, but that doesn't mean they're mature or responsible.

Honestly, I would say you're trying to pin down someone's value on "maturity" when you say how childless people could be more self-aware and mature than someone who had kids randomly.

I've understand you feel offended by Asunji_Yuko's comment, but this discussion is really unnecessary (and off-topic).

Sorry for the off topic. The higher the IQ the less chance that people will have children. It has been proven in many studies, that the smarter the person is, the fewer kids he has. Nothing to do with maturity. And maturity is an abstract concept that we in fact can not measure in any way, just like manliness, womanhood, or coolness. But we can measure an IQ. Now, I don't want to say that only dumb people have kids, I want to say that smarter people choose to have less of them. Anno is no doubt a smart guy, and smart people have more interest in things rather than people. He loves his ship models, loves to animate robots and mechanisms, and is bad at animating humans, as he himself said.

I think in the 90's and early 00's he studied human behavior, because he could not understand it, and that's why all his works of that time are so psychological. But at some point he came to a certain conclusion, and went back to shit he likes, robots, explosions and ships. Tokusatsu-type shit. That's why his works are no longer have the psychological element in them. And maybe to some extent this could not be considered mature, but like I said, maturity is an abstract concept, that simply impossible to measure or define with concrete certainty.
