You shouldn't normally need that, no; I know I didn't need it back in the day; although it might be a different story for the Theory and Analysis namespace, don't know the exact perms there

The Theory and Analysis namespace has some extra protections. Usually the content there comes from essays or analysis from the forums (for peer review) and not everyone can just create their own theories.
