This is a question to everyone who has watched Evangelion subbed or dubbed in any language other than English : are the children called "First Children", "Second Children", and so on in the plural, or the "First Child", "Second Child" and so on in the singular? And to those who have watched both the Netflix and pre-Netflix subs/dubs of Evangelion, has Netflix changed the Child/Children term? Thanks in advance to everyone who can help with this!

I've watched in portuguese once (Netflix) and it uses the term criança (child), in the singular.
Considering Normative Grammar, it would make no sense for this word to be in the plural. Like, not at all. I believe that's awkward, even in English. Unless you are considering the term "First Children", for example, as purely a title or name. In this instance, fine, because there's no "right" or "wrong" when we are naming something. But even so, I don't really understand the thought process that was used to devise this term.

It's the plural form ("Children") in the Netflix subs.
