Actually, I finished watching gos1 walkthrough yesterday to understand the story behind Mana. The 3rd/Kaji ending was not that bad. If that ending actually happened, i wouldn't mind as it didn't butcher the characters' persona, neither the plot. Wonder why people are so bitter about her, though the primary betrayal was kinda disturbing. Asuka ending was acceptable, while the rest are complete BS.
And i didn't know ikari raising project had Mana in it. Only thought gos1 had her. Guess it's time to watch and read SIRP (finished both gos 1,2 and angelic days).

I guess she's easy to add in as she's got the same VA as Rei and Yui, whom you've got to hire anyways. That lady got some range. Granted they tend to talk very differently - Mana is all perky and upbeat, Yui got this calm all-knowing vibe, Rei got what I'd call a very low-key version of a sad victorian heroine voice in the original, the dubs tend to give her more of a typical sci fi soldier voice...

I guess Ep 26 AU Rei sounds more similar to Mana.

Asking for a friend: if you examine the shoes here, you will see that they say something like "Unko Baka". I am sure we can all translate part of that but what does "unko" mean? Only thing I can come up with is that it means "UN-ko" as in "UN girl" maybe as a way of describing Rei but that is a super speculative guess and doesn't really match anything we see Asuka do in the show. Mystery!
