Caught this one while finding things to do with the free month of Prime I got to do Christmas shopping with.Having seen nothing Ultraman aside from Anno's student film before this one, the clear references to earlier iterations obviously meant nothing to me, and as such, it felt the weakest of the 3 Shin toku films judged on its own merits - doing nothing that Godzilla didn't do better. At least, by being a more traditional movie length it didn't outstay its welcome in the way Shin Eva did.

I don't know if I can agree; I felt Shin Ultraman should've ended two different times before the final ending actually happened.
