Another book getting a U.S. release, similar to this Rebuild book to be released by VIZ, but I can't find any Japanese equivalent, unless it's a simultaneous release? Which would be pretty cool.

This one'll be released by Udon Entertainment. Neat stuff!

Everyone's definitely excited for the Netflix release, huh? ^_^

This seems to be the same as the 2015 edition I already have (which cost ¥3000), apart from the hard cover and the English title on the front.
"Being human, having your health; that's what's important." (from: Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi )
"As long as we're all living, and as long as we're all having fun, that should do it, right?" (from: The Eccentric Family )

I own it too, great book.
Tons of Anno sketches.
I gotta say, I prefer softcover for this one.
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."
"In any case, it (Kill la Kill) is the greatest work of fiction ever written and should be taught in schools." -Squigsquasher

For anyone interested, it has been confirmed all the annotations included with the artwork have indeed been translated for this version!

Definitely going to add this to my (already) fairly extensive collection of Eva books.

Does this book contain a bunch of previously unseen work? Or is it more a collection of other stuff that's been released over time in various places? I'm very interested in getting it, just not sure how worth it it is if a lot of it is already out there...

This book is a collection of black-and-white pre-production sketches. Many of them have previously appeared in the books Shin Seiki Evangelion Settei Shiryoushuu, Shin Seiki Evangelion Settei Shiryoushuu For “Eva” Maniacs, and Neon Genesis Evangelion Newtype 100% Collection. So if you already have those books, you'll have seen many of these pictures before (this new book has the images in a larger size than the Neon Genesis Evangelion Newtype 100% Collection, though). But if you don't already have those books, and you're interested in pre-production sketches, then this is a really nice book to get. The English version is good quality too, except for the misleading title... this book contains pre-production art, not production art!

If you would like further details, I reviewed the Japanese version of the book a few years ago, plus I recently edited the review to add some information about the English version. Here's a link to the review: https://literaryeagle.tumblr.com/post/126400433009/for-my-thirty-fourth-evangelion-book-review-here

I hope that helps. ^_^
