Hello EVA Fans,

It's been a long time since I've been on, I know it's been over two years since I last posted.
Lots of stuff has been going on. Finally left the shit ass job I was in four months ago, got a new better job. In a slightly better place financially because of it. Could still be better, but everyone's stretched pretty thin these days. My probationary period ends mid-December so that'll be nice.
Haven't written anything in a while but I'm getting back into that because I miss it, and it was a good outlet for a lot of things. I also want to finish my fic because of the work that's gone into it over the years.
Personal life isn't any different, which I can't really complain about, consistency is a rare thing these days.
Still haven't gotten around to watching the final Rebuild film, don't know why I haven't. Maybe I'm afraid some of my crazy ideas for my fic are there, or I'm just not ready yet. I've binged like 15 anime over the past couple years and I can't even finish one of my favorites. Still have a huge backlog on that list though, I think there are 50 more to go?
Gaming has been going well, been working on Platinum trophies for a few games, been spending a lot of time on that to keep busy.
Anyway, enough rambling. I'm glad to be back and hope to stick around for a bit.

Uh, I hope I'm not stepping in anything here. My name is Garry. I come from afar (the Godzilla community mostly, where I'm renowned among a group of maybe three people for my knowledge) and my passion is trying to sound smart. I could tell you anything you want to know about Godzilla, but not Evangelion. Obviously, I wish to remedy that because Evangelion is freaking awesome.
Let's see... my favorite character is Kaworu, of course, because he's Kaworu. My least favorite character is Asuka because she's god-awful and I get the feeling it was meant to be that way.
Am I getting off-topic?
Anyway, I've never used forums or spoken to anyone at all who likes Evangelion before, and I'm scared that I may have posted this reply twice. So I'm not asking for people to be nice to me, I'm just asking for a little patience.
Oh, and by the way, I constantly make pop culture references that may or may not fly over the heads of literally everyone. You gotta be in the know to know, you know?
Alright, that was an absolute cringefest to write. I haven't figured out signatures yet, so stay tuned.

I share the same sentiment as you. And it was pretty apparent from all those posts I made years ago, but I’ve mellowed out in these past few years.

I’m a huge fan of Evangelion but not a very active user of social media however I have read and re-read the post here over a number of years. Thank you to all who contributed to such an enjoyable period of ‘lurking’ for me.
I’ve tried to find a mention of any admission from anyone involved with Eva that the cover to the book ‘Ice Orchids’ was the inspiration behind the iconic Rei-head visual at the conclusion of EoE. I’ve tried the search option to no avail.

If anyone knows of such an acknowledgement I’d be most grateful. Thank you.

Hi everyone! New guy here.

I've been conscious of the existence of something called "Neon Genesis Evangelion" for years but never really knew what it was — other than a famous anime series.

Finally discovered it was on Netflix this past autumn. Started watching it. Fell in love (figuratively speaking) with the characters. Enjoyed the show… but it went way darker than I'd expected. The final two episodes were weird but at least they ended on a positive note, right?

Started to read more about the series/franchise on the interwebs, trying to make sense of what it all meant and how the various iterations fit together. Rebuild, Manga, Death, End of, etc. Wasn't sure I wanted to watch anymore.

But I finally watched EoE last week. I'd read plot summaries beforehand and knew it was going to be rough, but man. I'm still reeling.

While perusing this board I ran across a couple of recommendations of the fanfic "You Are (Not) at Fault" by MisterHalt. I read it. I know it's not canon, but it was certainly what I needed—what with the ambiguity at the conclusion of EoE, I really needed some closure, and it definitely hit the spot.

Hey!

I finally decided to make an account here instead of lurking around. I am also quite new, I've always avoided anime because of the stigma around it but I recently decided to break that mold since I have more free time now and I watched the NGE series last December (I had no clue what I was about to watch, I just jumped in blind), after that i also watched EoE. And I liked it but honestly, both of those wrecked me up badly and just hit hard at my heart, I'm still feeling the after effects tbh.

By now I've also watched the rebuilds and read the manga, currently I'm reading the Shinji Ikari raising project (Currently on Volume 8).
