What artists have AMVs gotten you into?
Simply put, what musical artists have you gotten into as a result of watching a particular music video? I'm particularly interested in what videos through their creative merit got you into the music. Good music is good music, but it's been my experience that talent with video editing can influence you to like a musical artist through association. There have also been times when a good video has made me change my opinion on a particular song or artist.
Some artists I got into as a result of AMVs:
Guster

Rammstein

(although this might have been in combination with Du Hast on the soundtrack for The Matrix)

I don't know the artist behing the song in the AMV, but the one that totally grabbed me was the one you linked to on Trivial Being: Floyd's Nightmare (or how I Learned to Stop Worrying About the Voices in My Head), with the song "Go back to sleep". That song is freaking awesome. Who's performing it?
In my case, I refuse to go easy on the ignorant, regardless of degree. Hitler was ignorant. Joshua C. Whatshisface is ignorant. To me, they're in the same category of ignorant and stupid people who should have been left in some isolated corner of the world where they couldn't bother anyone. --The Eva Monkey
I recently became a Rammstein mark because of that very video Eva Monkey posted. Never mind I haven't a clue what their saying in the music, it's still catchy as hell for some reason.
And in case you don't feel like downloading a 60MB file, here's the Low Res version from YouTube I found.

A Haruhi AMV got me addicted to the song Sharada by Skye Sweetnam. I can't stand any of her other songs, though. Weird, that.

Not artists in particular, but Euphoria got me into RahXephon.
He was warrior and mystic, ogre and saint, the fox and the innocent, chivalrous, ruthless, less than a god, more than a man. There is no measuring Muad'Dib's motives by ordinary standards. In the moment of his triumph, he saw the death prepared for him, yet he accepted the treachery. Can you say he did this out of a sense of justice? Whose justice, then? Remember, we speak now of the Muad'Dib who ordered battle drums made from his enemies' skins, the Muad'Dib who denied the conventions of his ducal past with a wave of the hand, saying merely: "I am the Kwisatz Haderach. That is reason enough."

As do I. In fact, I now strongly believe that to be one of their crappier songs
Well, I don't think it's 'crappy'. Just not their best.
Interesting. What about the song makes you say that? Conversely, what songs would you say stand above Engel?
It all depends on what you like. This is my first R+ song ever, so it means something to me. But it isn't my favorite.
This really got me to liking Megaherz. It's the best AMV I've ever seen.

I'm going to have to agree with hexon on this one. Rammstein's Du Hast and Engel are great songs, I still listen to them, BUT I really like their two new albums, Reise Reise and Rosenrot. I think they have really evolved over the years. A lot of fans I have met don't like the evolution, but if you look at the other bands they listen to, you get an idea as to why that is. Rammstein, simply put, is not as heavy as they used to be. Some of their songs are almost in the experimental category now. But I think they are moving in the right direction with a more sophisticated sound.
Edit: If you want to hear a song that I think stands above their older stuff, listen to Ein Lied. If you like the really heavy sounds, then check out Mann gegen Mann or Benzin.
