So, I got my tickets, though for a second, I panicked because I thought I messed up. After ordering them, fandango told me there were only two ways of picking up my tickets: either bringing the credit card you ordered with (which is impossible because it's not my card. Someone decided to order these tickets for my birthday) or have some app on my cellphone ( I don't have a cellphone...). But when I called the theater, they told me all I needed was a sheet of paper printed with my confirmation number on it, which I have. I thought Fandango usually has an option where you print off you own tickets? Guess it's not like that at every theater.

Anno was asked about 3.0+1.0 at a Shin Godzilla screening yesterday.
Someday I hope that we'll be reunited if that is what's destined to be. Perhaps we'll discover that elusive bible. And then we will finally be free!

Q: Shin Eva?
A: I will do my best. Working hard
Q: Waiting at any time!
A: Thank you! I'll do my best. I mean, we're already working hard.

Good to know at least he's back on the production now

Cheeky Anno.
He's working hard but is Eva the projects he's working hard on at the moment?

I do kinda wonder if Final is gonna be this big, long, epic film a la Final Yamato to close out the franchise and that's why the film's been in development for so long.
Among the people who use the Internet, many are obtuse. Because they are locked in their rooms, they hang on to that vision which is spreading across the world. But this does not go beyond mere ‘data’. Data without analysis [thinking], which makes you think that you know everything. This complacency is nothing but a trap. Moreover, the sense of values that counters this notion is paralyzed by it.

And so we arrive at demagogy. - Hideaki Anno, 1996

I doubt it's gonna be longer than 90 mins, no way in hell Anno is going to give us more than 120.

I always wondered about it too as he was a big Yamato fan.

I'll continue my assumptions on Final's runtime.
It's either -
A) Going to to be the longest Evangelion film by a good margin - just north of 2 hours - diving deep into everything & going big.
OR
B) Will be the shortest Evangelion film - around 80 minutes - & 100% solely focus on Shinji & nothing else.

I STRONGLY hope for option A.
3.0 already gave us focus on Shinji, let's give the others some time.

Reminder that this is the Shin Godzilla thread, not a "filter feed for tidbits and accordingly speculate about next Eva movie's release date" thread.

In this article Anno says he doesn't think Toho would let him direct a sequel because of unspecified difficulties. Anno thinks it would be more interesting for a new director to take over and I can understand where he's coming from there, but why wouldn't Toho bring him back for a sequel if he was interested? I would think they'd jump at the chance with Shin Goji making bank.

Higuchi may return, since he was the second reason ShinG made the bank

I think he wants to focus on Shin Eva now. That might be the source of the "difficulties" he is referring to. I haven't heard of any friction between him and Toho Studio, so I doubt that it's referring to the studio not wanting to work with him.

The last time Godzilla made a comeback with "Final Wars"; in a span of 5 years Toho released 6 movies. I think Anno does not want to be directing Godzilla for potentially 5-plus years.
I know I don't want him too...(3+1 when?)

On a different note.

On YouTube, a guy (who claim to have watched the film in Japan) said that
"The dialogue in this movie is really really fast" & "I think foreigners are going to have a tough time reading the subtitles"
Full Quote
SPOILER: Show
"-YouTuber"
"Saw this film in Japan, and it was fucking fantastic!! However, I think foreigners are going to have a tough time reading the subtitles because the films pacing is really fast and all the characters speak fast as well."

"The dialogue in this movie is really really fast, especially at the first act.
They also use quick cuts a lot and people talk using complicated terms. Also to top it off there are those old school subtitles describing character's name and occupation, the location, what conference is being held.
All of these choices that were made were fantastic. They made the conference scenes entertaining, and made you feel the rush and panic."
I hope I can keep up with the Subtitles... :uhh:

Since this movie is going to be subtitled, how do you guys think Toho handled it. (Based on previous Toho-Subbed films)
You think we'll get some wonky/incorrect translations?
Also:
Did Toho themselves make the subtitles or did they outsource it?
EvaGeeks is a nightmare to navigate, still good tho.

I mean, predictability is the central attraction and the narrative hook that we've all come to expect from the Evangelion franchise. How come Anno can't realize this? Twice? - FreakyFilmFan4ever

Cool! That book will cost around 100 bucks though. :/
Shinji: "Sooner or later I'll be betrayed... And they'll leave me. Still... I want to meet them again, because I believe my feelings at that time were real."
Ryuko: "I'm gonna knock ya on your asses!"
-Asuka: THINK IN GERMAN!!! -Shinji: Öh... Baumkuchen...
Hayashida: "As game developers, our work is special. All of us here can put smiles on very many people's faces with our work."
