DAMN IT TO HELL!

I really like the idea of 3.0+1.0
But really? Tumblr doesn't let us tag stuff with + signs... that is gonna be a bitch to keep spoilers out of the main evangelion tag now :cringe:

I can't get to the official Eva site now since it's being hammered to death (hell, even this site is chugging under the load), but this would be the first time the main page of http://evangelion.co.jp/ has been updated since October 2012 :lol:

So, is the name like that to avoid using 4 (something about bad luck, I recall?); or does it indicate that the last film has a fundamentally different relationship with the ones preceding it? And we still don't have the "You ... (not) ..." part of the title which is presumably still to be expected sometime.

I'm sure they're not so unsettled by the number 4 that they'd take it out of the title entirely, but I question the whole "does the change in name imply a change in plot/relation to the story" or if it's just Anno trolling again.

Well, seems like an interesting title... Maybe the avoidance of a clear stated 4.0 plus the + kinda implies that this time it's a direct continuation from Q? Also we have the story boards of the kids in the red sand... So I guess we pick up, where we left of...
Also there's the alluded repeat bar in the Japanese title and somehow they sneaked a 1.0 in the title... So maybe some flashbacks too?

Oh boy, what's coming here. We'll find out, in about one to two years, lol. Yes, I expected nothing less from the master.

For those who missed it, I translated the summary of Minna no Eva fan's speculation way back here.

The hype was super fun, but yes I'm somewhat disappointed that there's no real news yet. In the upcoming months, I'm sure news'll trickle down.
