After watching NGE, I always thought Gendo Ikari might have been a characterization of Hideaki Anno, although I can't explain why since I never saw a photo of Anno. Maybe it was the way he handled Gendo in the story.

But photos prove it.

Also, PRPD. I caught the Asuka corpse the second time I watched EoE. That's was the first thing in a long time that actually kept me up at night (and I've seen some pretty crazy films).
