Best Anime for "Shippers"?

Hi all!

I just recently learned that I am a "shipper" (a person that yearns to see two characters start dating or end up together).

Can you please recommend some quality anime that are right up Shippers' alleys?

I've already seen Cowboy Bebop.

Cheers!
I watched the Neon Genesis Evangelion TV show and films for the 1st time in January 2014. Heartbreakingly sad but so beautiful too. I'm here to discuss theories about what happened in the show.

I'm not really sure how one recommends "shipping" anime, since, so long as there are at least two characters in a given production, shippers will find a way to ship them. You may want to ransack TV Tropes for specific examples of your preferred love tropes in action.

I guess there aren't really many people that can tell you which characters in specific animes you're going to like, since this is what it takes to "ship" characters.
The best I can do is naming some shows with characters I liked and naming some animes with a way too huge shipper-crows. Both options wouldn't really help you.

I guess he's looking for anime where the shippers' fantasies actually come true, in which case I'd say most romantic anime would fit the criteria. Just research something in the romance genre and see if anything interests you, I'm not too familiar with it to recommend anything.

So many anime are ripe for shipping and ship wars -- they don't even have to be obvious harems or romcoms to have ships -- that it's probably easier to point at the exceptions.

Personally, I'm not one who goes in for the ship, and generally steers clear of the obvious mushy stuff; though if there are obvious couples from nigh the get-go, then I'll be happy to see them progress (Aaeru/Neveril in Simoun, for example). That said, the one series where I did spend the final scene thinking to myself "Now just kiss her, you idiot!" was Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha (first season); and the one where I was resigning myself to the fact that the childhood friend never wins, even if she is the best girl (but was happily surprised at the very end) was Kasimasi.

Isn't shipping built upon not getting what you want ? (in this case romantic scenes)

On the contrary, that's exactly what I'm looking for ^^ !
Which anime shows have the biggest shipper-crows?

Okay, I'm not really involved with fanfictions, shipping, fan generated material (aside from Artworks) or even shows that people would like to ship (Evangelion and some romantic guilty pleasures excluded) so please forgive me, if I say something wrong, but as far as I can tell:

    -Bleach
    -Naruto
    -Kaichou wa maid sama
    -InuYasha
    -Clannad
    -SAO
    -Angel Beats
-Avatar (Please don't start a war about what is anime and what is not, guys)

But I would still say, that just because many people like the characters of these shows so much and want them to be together so hard, doesn't mean that you're going to like them too. I would go with normal romances, but hey, to each his own. I hope I could help you somehow.

I assumed you're not into Yaoi (A huge part of shippers are yaoi-fangirls), so I excluded stuff like Black Butler. But hey, I can really recommend reading some, not completly porn-based yaoi-romances, even if you're straight.

Well, there are still tons of impersonal female characters on this show, everyone seems to love. Also you can ship Evangelion without shipping Kaworu x Shinji.

One title which hasn't been mentioned so far but which gets a lot of shipping talk is of course Puella Magi Madoka Magica, especially with the spin-off manga and movies, with accompanying publicity material that seems intended to encourage at least one ship.

Rule of thumb, the less the pairing makes sense the higher the shipper fuel.

Forget anime, if ya want shipping read Berserk. It's a story where the shipping never ends.

^ Basically. Every anime can be extremely 'ship-heavy', depending on what prism you view them through.

How in the name of all the ships in the sea has no one mentioned Sailor Moon?! It's a treasure trove!
