I never thought I'd say this but I wish Naoko Takeuchi would give the rights for Crystal and Sailor Moon in general to a different animation studio other than Toei.

I believe that might be impossible, maybe those were permanent contracts.
I feel the same with Dragon Ball. I understand that many animators at Toei are young and training, and that is completely fine, but it is the higher ups job to contract great animators and directors, both, to make the shows actually good and to have the younger animators learn.

There is no excuse for something like Dragon Ball Super happening (remember episode 5) with how much money Toei has (come on, they have to have tons of money).
I've also seen some lackluster Sailor Moon Crystal frames...

In the end what makes a series is not the studio, but the people working, Sailor Moon OG had Ikuhara, but now Toei doesn't seem to care.

So, Viz just announced that this Summer that they're gonna be doing theatrical releases for the S and SuperS movies via Fathom Events. I'm gonna go see both of them with a friend mine since my theatre always gets Fathom Events stuff. I sure hope they give out posters and art cards again. Then again, since my dad and brother both work at our local movie theatre that means I'll probably end up with complete sets of the posters and art cards again. And I'll probably end up with the extra art cards too.

Just viewed Sailor Moon R: The Movie on DVD.

If this was to be your first foray into the franchise, then it does catch you up to speed in the beginning with the roll call and the end with the trip down memory lane for Usagi and her friendships with the rest of the Scouts which tbh hit right in the feels and i am not ashamed to admit it. When things were bad and Usagi was about to give up, i thought Rei would revisit the slap heard round the world in the first series but it turned out to be Chibi-Usa and her toy gun which would never make it past the censors in today's PC environment but still amusing nonetheless.

That's always been my favorite of the three films, with Super S being second. The story was good, and I liked the partial focus on Mamoru and his (human) past, as it was never something explored before in the anime (and IIRC manga) proper. Plus the villain was compelling, and you can see the motivation there, which is just beyond being the standard "monster of the week" story.

So, Target has on their website a men's Sailor Moon t-shirt for $13. It's way cheaper than Hot Topic and since I own it I can confirm that it's super comfortable too.

My Target even has the Outer Senshi Funko Pops in stock, minus Chibimoon and Uranus. So, a few questions for everyone.
Who's your favorite character and why?
What's your favorite season of the 90s anime?
What are your favorite items in your Sailor Moon collection?
I'll start.

My favorite character is Usagi cause she's like me a clumsy crybaby who will do anything to protect her friends and loved ones.

My favorite season of the 90s anime is Classic aka season 1. I feel that even if the series had ended at season 1 that it would still be considered a classic anime.

As for my favorite items in my collection I have a bunch. My favorite items are my Japanese Sailor Stars VHS tapes that cover the series finale (I got the tape with Uranus and Neptune on the cover autographed by their Viz voice actresses, not bad for a 50 cent garage sale find by my mom), my Princess Serenity doll, my Star Locket music box, a Sailor Moon doll that I found on New Year's Eve last year at a flea market, my set of art cards and posters from the R movie last year, my lanyard with Sailor Moon autographs, my Sailor Moon S promo poster from Walmart, my Usagi cosplay wig, and my Sailor Moon wall clock. <3

Favourite character...I'm guessing Usagi because she's funny, but Minako is really cool too. Chibiusa also has some great moments. I think the characters work best when they're together in their day to day life.

The anime I can't watch (I'm answering based on the manga) :(
But since the manga has the same structure, I liked "season 2" the best as a story. And the Luna-centered story that exists as a movie too (the princess Kaguya one). And the stories of the characters lesrning for exams, or trying to.

Favourite item...don't have many. The manga, that Usagi figurine I shared and a Mina keychain. Can't decide lol.

Favorite character? Ami, easily. We have the same birthday (September 10th), we both love reading about science and technology, we both can be shy and antisocial, and we both love cats!

My favorite Sailor Scout is a toss up between Rei and Makoto. Rei because of her fiery personality and Makoto due to her beautiful physique, if I ever get married then my ideal bride would have to be a combination of both. But if I had to choose between the two of them, I would most likely go with Mako because she can cook which is a relief for someone like me who fears the heat in the kitchen as well as having the most perfect English dub voice as far as Viz dubs are concerned!
