As to my unannounced absence; I've just been exploring a lot of new shows, books, and music lately, the staple of Evangelion was always there but somewhat faintly in the background. Recently I've found myself drawn back into it for the same reasons I loved it in the first place; ambiguity and reflection. Most of it was brought on by DS3 which I enjoyed immensely. They both share the same murkiness of understanding.

I'll always be attracted to such opaque stories I suppose. Anyway, really wanna watch the series again but not sure how I should do it, the last five times has just been me and maybe my girlfriend, I feel like it'd be fun to do it with a whole bunch of mates and watch them flip their shiz.

Evangelion is very a important, intimate, and personal work to me. Shinji's struggle with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, etc. was incredible relatable and I believe those final episodes of the TV show, helped me deal with those things too. And the show might have my favorite ending of any work because of that. Second is End of Evangelion. I find it incredibly fascinating in terms of it being a response to the fandom, especially since the letters are actually in the movie itself. I think it being critical of its audience (though Shinji as audience surrogate) is very meaningful, especially because it's from otaku to otaku instead of a outside perspective with little understanding. With the "lifestyle" and hobbies, I feel it is extra necessary to always keep that sense of self awareness.

In terms of characters, I'd say I'm most fond of Asuka, Misato, and Kaworu.

If you couldn't already guess, my username is in reference to a line in End of Evangelion. The scene it was in just really stuck with me. Visually, it was very striking seeing Shinji's objectification of the women in his life though the camera angles and the three eventually blending in together in his eyes, all the while they're calling him out for exactly that kind of thing. Figured my username should be something Eva related and significant to me.

Lately, I've been getting into model kits as a hobby, starting with Gunpla (Gundam plastic models). I'm curious about the Evangelion model kits, especially in finding some of Unit 02 to display. I figure this also might be a good place to do my research to see which ones to buy and talk about them afterwards.

I have an interest in some of the table top RPGs based on Evangelion like AdEva and especially Bliss Stage, though I haven't had the opportunity to play either yet. Not sure if this is the place for that, but getting a campaign/group organized for one of those would be wonderful. Or at least it might be cool to talk about the games.

Anyway, I guess I need to mention a little bit about myself outside of Eva. I'm a trans woman. I have autism, OCD, and ADHD. I'm in a loving relational. My favorite anime is Revolutionary Girl Utena and I'm also fond of other mecha anime outside of Eva such as Gunbuster, Getter Robo, Mazinger Z, and especially the Gundam franchise. My other hobbies outside of anime include theater, tabletop roleplaying games, video games (especially horror and aventure games), manga, music, model building, and research.

So, yeah, I'm happy to meet you all and I'm really hoping to enjoy my stay.

The name is cunning linguist. Eva and me go back a long time, ever since it aired on adult swim that one spring break, when I was a teenage weeb, young, dumb and full of cum (still am). In my late night stupor I decided to look up that one cute girl with short black hair, which I discovered was actually Shinji. Thus began a very strange relationship...which ended up here. Well, uhm, hi. I'm bad in formal introductions, so I'll just say I'm native speaker of the most complicated world language except Navajo. The only drawback of my mother tongue is lack of articles, so please don't bully if I misplace them from time to time. I'm interested mostly in space exploration and counter wargames; I also like to fanwank without restrictions. Due to health issues I have recently much free time, which I use mostly to learn coding (currently in Ruby and JavaScript).
