On the QC forum, I have announced (privately, to the mods) that in three months I will step down from being admin/mod there. This is because I want to give more of my leisure time to making sensible preparations for my real-world retirement which will be about two years after that. Much though I have enjoyed doing the task there, a sense of relief is already starting to lift a weight from my shoulders.

Good on you for being able to let go. Isn't always the easiest thing, even if you know you should.

Also, will this change have any impact on your time here on EvaGeeks? Be a shame if it did.

Well, I don't have the pressure here that being staff brings there, so I can come and go more easily. I don't intend to go any time soon, though I have (by chance, not deliberate intent) reduced my posting rate from the beginning of the year when it seems I was in the top ten for a while.

I didn't tell you wonderful lot this, but, last weekend, I got to eat dinner with a very charming fellow. He's really quite a cool person.

I'm sure we all love Science Fiction, here. So I don't think I need to really give you any more hints besides "Who do you think of when Star Trek comes to mind."

That's right. Captain Kirk. William Shatner.

It's a complex arrangement, but basically the company I work for is sponsoring him. He's a sort of spokesperson. I'm not really sure how to describe it.

Regardless. He's a fucking awesome guy to talk to and quite modest, to boot.

Finally upgrading from my good old GTX 460 1GB to an AMD R9 270 2GB

About time too since my 460 is quite old now, but still runs stuff pretty darn well. I just needed a newer GPU that would be less prone to frame dropping as much in modern titles as my 460 does.

Not really funny, but still fun. He's a massive Mars enthusiast. I want to work for NASA/JAXA/ESA, so we had a lot of fun talking about Mars and space travel and other sciency things.

Princess, I don't post for custom titles. I post because I love Evangelion, and I want to contribute to the fandom as much as I can and be an active member in the Evageeks community. I love the custom title, and leveling up was one of the highlights of my week when I was still doing that, but that's not the drive behind what I do. Would I be upset if I lost my title and my boxes? Yes, of course I would. I earned them through contributions, and it's almost like a badge of pride (since it didn't come from shitposting.) It's nice to have them, but they're just one reason among many that I post here. But to answer your question...

I'm going to have the most posts on the forum. Just you wait!

Got some new shoes, took ages to find the right ones but I went to Clarks, should have just went there in the first place, not really much variety in other stores, no more sore feet.
