This thread is for authors to place requests for prereaders/editors, for planning collaborative projects, posting links to writting advice (grammar guides, plotting advice, etc) or anything else you might find helpful in a general sense.

This is NOT the place to post actual fics or to request open feedback... for that sort of thing, please start a new thread specifically for your fic (or fics, if you're the sort who produces mostly oneshots).

I've been wondering that myself, since "defilation" isn't a word used in the English language. At first I thought it might be a variant of "defilement", but now I'm not so sure; perhaps he coined the word deliberately for the sake of telling his story. :shrug:

I've read it out of curiosity(what, it's rated T!) and you don't have to worry Lavinius, there is nothing sexual about her defilement... just that you risk to hate Arael even more(and that it had fucking weird powers...)

Defilation... I heard the word 'defile' from Star War Empire at War FoC. I was just trying to make it sound like she had been 'defiled'. I wasn't trying to make it 'defloration' XD

So don't worry Lavinius (nice name btw, reminds me of B5), There will be no sexual violence

I just checked it out, Panzer, and posted a review. All I have to say is there, and I agree with Bagheera, I think the word you wanted was 'Defilement.' Defilation is an Italian word that means...I don't know, wiktionary won't tell me. But it does put your story in the top of Google searches, so there's that! Frankly, I have no problem with using words that 'sound' like they fit, so if that fits or conveys what you think it should, go with it.

I do fear that the later chaptets are not as good as the first one. Once I get those sector breaks back into place, I'll try and improve. I mean, I know how I want it to go, but putting my ideas into words, never was my strongpoint

Hi everyone. I'm seeking a beta-reader to proofread and provide some critique on a one-shot I wrote.

The fic is titled "Phantom Pain", and is just over 4000 words. Here's a short summary:

SPOILER: Show

"Post Third Impact. Stuck in the same hospital, Toji relearns how to walk and Asuka gets treatment for her physical and mental wounds. But their recovery is hampered by what everyone believes is a ghost that haunts the premises."

(It's a Toji and Asuka story. But not a Toji x Asuka ship. And despite the subject material, it's not horror. Consider it human drama.)

The title and story reference post-trauma recovery, which will be explained more in the story. This is the second Evangelion fic I've ever written. So I would really like to hear some analysis and pointers on whether the context and characters are possible and in-character.

I can do proof-reading for grammatical and spelling errors, but I wouldn't be so good on the critique part. I can give it a shot, though.
