∆ Actually I was thinking more of a Kill la Kill game.
I know almost nothing about BlazBlue haha.

And the font used makes me think this is KlK centric.

The announcement comes after Franxx today, so 5PM European time, which is 8AM Pacific.

Well, I was completely wrong.

And also, you guys should temper your excitement. Arcsys has made a game like this before called Guilty Gear: Overture. It wasn't that great.

A+ is developing it, the developer that made the Little Witch Academia game. Which is OK, but has its fair share of problems too (I mostly like it).
Depends on a lot of factors though, who directs it, how good are they at tackling this genre, how much time do they have, what's the budget?
So I'll just stay hopeful that it'll be good.
Interactive KlK is also kinda enough to sell it to me lol.

It doesn't look like something I would be excited to play. I'm expecting shallow combat system consisting of spamming square square square triangle over and over again until your special meter fills.

At least the character models look good. The boring arena background arena setting is disappointing.

I dunno, I can't tell at all how the gameplay will be from this, other than timing seems to be important.
I think the action is well done and timed. The arena is boring, but Kill la Kill was going to lead to that, the show only had one main scenery. They could maybe decorate the backgrounds with characters doing weird stuff.
I think it needs to be a bit more vibrant, but there is probably some time left to polish.
I wonder what the character count will be.

I'm more optimistic about this game now if it focuses on 1v1 balance and gameplay variety over making a generic arena fighter with story slapped on top.

Trigger isn't going to do anything anymore with Kill la Kill, is it?
I would gladly enjoy more content detailing the lives of the characters, but I would enjoy even more a crossover! But this is highly unlikely because KlK rights are a mess.
A Gurren Lagann, EVA or Godzilla crossovers would be great

∆ Yeah, Sushio just keeps bringing me joy.

He also does a collection of drawings ever New Year's Eve where the characters celebrate. It's a traditiin at this point I don't think will end anytime soon.
