Well, we need to call them something other than "11th Angel" and "12th Angel" until we have confirmed names. Assuming Anno is gracious enough to give them names this time around. Clockiel and Tunniel seemed to have been taken in pretty quickly last time around.

Even the BD booklet just calls it "The 12th Angel (第十二天使)". I think it would be useful to give it a fanwanked name, even if it's just a placeholder.

It's pretty clean Anno gave up on naming them since 2.0, and it's not of any convenience when the movies themselves refere to them in one way while you prefer another that's not in there and unknown to anyone outside this community.

Even though Armisael's role was partly taken over by the 10th Angel, the 12th seems particularly evocative of an "angel of the womb":

- It is "quickening" inside Mark.06
- It forms a giant core-uterus around Eva-13.
- It eventually turns into a massive fetus.

So I guess if you're going to call it anything besides "12th Angel", call it Armisael, as technically incorrect as it is.

Angel of Embryos was the Magma Diver one.

12th Angel seems fine to me, but if it must have another name, "Core Angel" seems the least confusing.

I think it's Rebuild!Armisael or some equivalent, for several reasons:

1)When it first emerges, it takes the form of a big thread/loads of small threads (similar to Armisael).

2)It then morphs into a different shape (similar to Armisael's morphing capabilities)

3)Shooting it does nothing at all (Armisael seems to be immune to gunfire and conventional attacks)

4)It morphs into a giant Rei, similar to Armisael, and is implied to have merged with a Rei, possibly killing/abosrbing that Rei in the process.

And don't forget it's also the last of the non-human Angels, like Armisael in NGE!
